This was the main reason why I never built big networks in the old system, because to 'calculate' your own timetables in a version that does not support real timetables is a lot of work. And I knew this moment would come with a better system implemented and all the old systematics gone.
So yeah, this is just the thing with playing a beta. It's part of the game I guess.
You can still run your lines in auto with fixed intervals still in 1.5. It will, however, not be finetuned to match your planned connections between lines. Neither will it be possible to play with interval/stop times per station the old way.
The great thing about 1.5 though, is you are now able to see the timetable of each line in game, and the trains will stick to that as much as possible. So you can see exactly the current planned departures. This is the starting point now.
Best thing you can do now I think is to learn to manage timetables the new way, and fix your lines one by one. The new system really is way better and easier to manage in my opinion, but it's way different from before, and takes a bit getting used to.
EDIT: did you build depot lines already? you mention starting times. I assume you were using depots before?
Thanks for your reply.
Yeah I was using depots which worked perfectly...for example I'd have a train leave a depot at 0500 to the first station before beginning its line, and the next train leaving at 0600 on a hourly interval etc. Then most lines I had finishing around midnight so then they all came back to the depot. Going to be a nightmare to sort them all out one by one with 100 lines and no depot lines created.
I'm sorry your 1.4 lines do not work in 1.5. You can keep playing 1.4 by switching your game to the legacy-1.4 branch in the Steam game properties, Betas section. But if you switch to 1.5 with a fresh start (you can for example sell all trains in a copy of your save, there is a button for that in 1.5 Company panel), you will see the new order system allows to do timetabling in a much more satisfying and correct way than the 1.4 "every line is a subway" system.
I need to evolve the game. Other EA games just declare every major version to be a hard break for save compatibility. Instead I try to keep a very high level of compatibility between versions, despite the cost to my time, the game design, and the roadmap. All I ask in return is some understanding that new major versions will overhaul some game systems and depending on your build, some small to big changes will be required in old saves.
I understand your reasoning I was just wondering if there was another way to easily set up my lines similar to before. I'll try experimenting with the new system and try to set them all back up individually. Thanks for the comment! :)
Good news though; setting up depot lines is quick and easy, and once you are used to it you won't want to go back to the old system anymore. If you would like some more guidance, you can always pm me. :)
Thanks a lot, I appreciate your help! Will hit you up if I get stuck any time! Cheers!

On the plus side, you don't have to reopen a map for the big update, it's great to redraw all the routes
