Yarh, a game own by a legitimate company listed on Steam is likely to give you a trojan virus yarh... Dunno why I felt like writing that.

It would also be helpful if you could list the file/s infected, rather than give a word and assume we know your problem. I'll assume this is the Vivox Voice service showing up?

Chances are this is a FALSE POSITIVE. Using AVG are you? There's no need to get paranoid over games on Steam.

I just dont want my credit card / account info to get stolen. I do use AVG and a EXE file in the binaries folder that had the word 'voice' in it was apparently a trojan horse. An hour later, it said no webcam detected on skype. I just dont want to get robbed

Well free anti-virus software is often the most preyed upon so you have a point. It is also good practice not to have card data stored in a computer with said anti-virus. But enough of that.

This has happened before.

VivoxVoiceService is not a trojan. This allows you to speak in-game. You can even disable the option if you don't want to use it.

There are plenty of past cases where anti-viruses mistaken something in the APB folder to be dangerous. I myself never had anything detected (Norton IS, don't like the brand in general but it works).

So its either a false positive (most likely), or you got this trojan from somewhere else.

^ You must be in a jolly mood today, lol.
Nothing to worry about dood. This game is clean. Super fun and thrilling game. Keeps you entertained and it's quite addicting. Don't give up. This game is in the least a MUST TRY. Good luck. Also (Try adding the launcher and apb .exe(s) to your anti virus's exceptions. Last tip. If you are using Win7. I suggest you get rid of any and all anti virus you currently use and isntall Windows Microsoft Security Essentials. It's safe. It doesn't hiccup. It autoupdates every night. It keeps you protected while using very little of your computers resources. You wont regret making the change. Also i've never once had any issues playing any game with MSE. Again good luck~ ( MSE Is free with your legit copy of windows :) )

I got that warning when I installed too. A Google search brought me to the GamersFirst dev forum, where a G1 dev confirmed it was a false positive and there is nothing to worry about. APB is a fun game; not a trojan. I'm pretty sure Steam has to verify that stuff before accepting new games on its service.
should be fine i had same problem

if your using that antivirus and the virus is Exe (executeable file) then your ♥♥♥♥♥. Search the infekted files name on the internet, best if you do it on the norton web then it should say how to remove that file. If you have many viruses on your pc i suggest resetting your OS. but the game itself cant be an virus unless an virus has infekted its files
Okay thank you for your help now i am safe :D i might change my antivirus system or something, is norton good?

I trust NIS (Norton Internet Security) alot with keeping my sensitive data (i.e. cards) safe. So far no issues with installing games/software, so I never needed to make exceptions through the firewall. The NIS suite also provides a safer web browsing experience by helping scan links and warning/turning you away from malicious sites.

It has too many features to elaborate on so you can google the specs. I don't know how expensive it is over where you are, so I can't quote a price for you.

There are plenty good ones out there to check out as well. Just do your own research.

AVG has recognized Vivoxvoiceservice.exe as a FALSE positive in the past for other games that use it. just because it comes back as saying its a virus does not always mean it is.
Im just paranoid, but thank you guys, you've been a great help!
