I loved the concept of APB, I was so disapointed with the fall of the original, it had real potential. When APB Reloaded came out at first I jumped for joy, but not three hours or so into the game I immediately realized that this game was now pay-to-win, pay-to-create (what is that about?!) and nothing had been "reloaded" about it (no old bugs fixed, new ones appeared). G1stole this game concept, legally they may own it, but they basically stole what could have been great and just ruined it. It was soulcrushing actually to someone who enjoyed the characters and the gameplay, but I couldn't play anymore, and so I deleted this garbage game and I hope you don't get goaded into playing this ever. Trust me when I say it would be better to piss your money away elsewhere, this game doesn't even deserve a rating. I really truly hope that whomever makes the decisions at G1 can't sleep at night for what he/she has done to this beautiful concept. It really wouldn't have taken much to fix this, but instead they went the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ route and I hate them for it. In fact I hope the company learns to do something better with this or they are forced to sell the rights, no game deserves to be ♥♥♥♥♥♥ like this.

This game is a massive pay to win with the microtransaction style.

I liked the original it was a great game. Then it changed hands...

I played this game to death and then one day.... An Admin was in the community section and was being really really rude to a player of the game, so I jumped in and defended him and so did my 2 friends... Next thing we noticed.. Banned!

I refuse to play this game, I refuse to give them anymore money. I had 2years worth of premium left, lots of cars, and I spent tons of money on this game with the G credits, cars, guns. I was on the last teir of the contracts, with over 4.2 million in cash, I really played hard in this game and banned for sticking up for someone..

I cannot stand the company behind this and I will never touch them again, no matter what they release. If they gave me my old account back I would play again, but I have tons and tons of emails back and for to support and every one seemed to change their mind on why I was banned, and same with friends.

Cannot stand them, angry at them and they are a joke.

Money grabbing company who does not care about the consumer only their pockets.

A different Dev needs to make a better version of APB.. Bring a new concept around

I put about 12 hours total in this game and knew it wasn't for me after 6.

I was suckered in by the offer of customization. But then I found out you have to unlock 99% of the customizations, and the weapons, and the vehicles. Seriously, why would you show tons of tricked out vehicles and characters and them lock them to new players? Do you think that telling me I am not good enough/allowed to have this content will make me what to spend money?

Ok, no huge deal, I will just not have a hugely customized player.

At least the gameplay looks great. Oh, wait, you do the same missions over and over but with different people everytime. The voice chat sucks, the controls are a joke, and third person shooter?

I would put some smart comment about being able to jump from server to server, but lets be honest, they have what? 5? 6? The only one that promised me a decent ping would lag constantly causing me to loose shoot outs, throw grenades at my own feet only to watch them tick down till they exploded under me because I couldn't move, crash the car I am in every 30 seconds even when driving straight.

Overall, it is a good concept, but very poor execution. A large amount of money needs to be spent on optimization and server upgrades. Adding the options to host your own server would improve playability greatly as it would open up more options for those not 20 miles from their nearest server. Allowing much more customization in the beginning wouldn't put a bad taste in my mouth in the first 5 minutes either.

Game was GREAT and RTW time. Now its a piece of ♥♥♥♥.
But all players give them hundrets of dollars. Their own fault.

pay-to-win huh? Ive only been using the starting guns and still owning people... imo the other guns suck compared to the starter rifle. You Sir just suck.. and way too quick to claim "pay-to-win" when something doesnt go your way.
TurboGarbage 14 grudnia 2014 o 19:22
It's not pay2win in the slightest. You pay to not have to grind as much, but that's typically how free-to-play games work. Here's a little breakdown of what you can buy.

The non-weapon things you can buy are:
-premium (boosted money and xp from missions, a staple of free-to-play)
-earlier access to cars you would already unlock through gameplay
-car kits (solely cosmetic, doesn't do anything other than look good)
-clothing (solely cosmetic, doesn't do anything other than look good)
-symbols that you unlock on almost every mission you do anyway
-emotes that you unlock through regular gameplay anyway
-character name changes
-extra character slots (not needed until after about 600-700 hours gameplay)

The weapons you can buy have a few options. You can buy weapons:
-For 3 days, to just enjoy for a while, see if you really like it or not.
-For 30 days, if you do like it but don't want to use it forever.
-As a character-bound permanent weapon, so you don't have to re-lease the weapon every now and then.
-As an account-bound permanent weapon, only useful if you have a lot of characters.

That's one of the main selling points of weapons, the fact that you don't have to bothed leasing weapons. Leasing them isn't that of a deal, and often your tastes in what weapons you like will changes so having leases instead of permanent choices can be pretty helpful. But once you really know the games mechanics inside out, you can usually pick a couple guns that you know you are going to want to have ready to go without havign to lease them. It's just a handy timesaver, plus a slight in-game cash saver so you don't have to buy them again.

Next, the weapons will be in one of five of the following categories:
-A regular weapon with open open modification slots.
-A re-skin of a regular weapon.
-A weapon with fixed modifications.
-A weapon which is only available from either Armas or the Joker Store.
-A joker mystery box legendary weapon.

The first 3 of those make up 95% of the weapons on Armas. I'll explain each in a bit mroe detail, to understand the lack of pay-to-win.

Regular weapons with open modification slots are earned normally in the game by getting kills with that kind of weapon. When you get better with the gun, you get more kills and unlock more customizable versions of that weapon. The mods for the weapons are earned the same way, each weapon type will unlock a different kind of weapon mod, ie Assault rifles unlock the Hunting Sight modification, while Sub-machine guns unlock the Magazine Pull modification. Each weapon mod has bonuses and penalties, having any particular mod does not necassarily make the gun better, it makes it more specialised.

Re-skins of regular weapons are identical to the weapons you can earn in game, but they have a different model and often have a different sound. This has absoultely no impact on the performance of the weapon, the stats remain the same. It is just a cosmetic change. These weapons are typically bought by people who are trying to create a particular character image, like someone trying to make a character look from the american special forces but doesn't want the N-Tec (which looks like an AK-47) and so buys the Joker CR-5 (which looks more like an AR-15).

Weapons with fixed modifications are weapons that come with weapon mods already applied, which cannot be changed. This is useful in that it saves you having either unlock the weapon mods yourself or having to buy them from the auction house, which can be difficult to do for brand new characters. Bare in mind, a new character does not mean a new account. Someone can have 3 totally maxed out characters and still make a new character and look like they are just rank 10. Rank is in no way indicator of skill!

Weapons that are only available from armas or the joker store are a little different. There is a secondary form of currency in APB that new people don't usually hear about for a while (because there's a LOT of stuff to learn in APB) called Joker Tickets. These are used to buy things that are normally only available on the Armas marketplace. They can take a while to get, but it allows you to get fancier car kits, clothing, titles and this category of weapons. These weapons are almost all designed to fill a small, strange niche of weapons. There is the ATAC, which is an assault rifle/smg hybrid, which is worse at both roles than the regular weapons that are dedicated to those roles. There is the COBRA, which is essential a semi-automatic rifle/assault rifle hybrid, which is worse at both roles than the weapons that are dedicated to them. There's the colby CSG, which is essential the same as the JG shotgun but with a different spread pattern, it's a tighter spread that leaves less much less room for error, with little benefit over the JG from getting a perfect hit. You can earn over a thousand joker tickets a week if you try, and typically the weapons do not cost that much. The fight club districts have 3 challenge tiers each, which offer 50 tickets for the bronze tier, 150 for the silver tier, and 200 for the gold tier. Two fight club districts means you can get 800 from them alone each week, with 5 daily activities offered from your completed contacts to get extra tickets while in mission districts. And for those of you that didn't know, the Joker store is in the Social district. There are three contacts that sell you things for joker tickets there.

Now lastly is that category of Joker Mystery Box weapons. These are weapons that can't be bought, only gambled for. They arearguably no better than any regular weapons, their value does not come from how good they are. Their value comes from the fact that they are the only weapons that can be sold/traded with other players. There is less than a 1/100 chance of recieving one of these weapons from a joker mystery box. The weapons themselves are not direct upgrades, but alternatives to other weapons. They usually have unique mods that make the weapon feel unique. The Sitting Duck has a tagger modification (which you get in-game) but this tagger is different in that it shows a duck instead of the usual floating crosshair symbol. No advantage. The Reaper is the same, it shows a little Scythe instead of the crosshair. The NFAS-True Ogre has a doublr mag, but has a longer reload time and has a windup timer to fire, making the weapon far harder to use. The OCA-Nano is jsut an automatic Obeya FBW, the rest of its stats are the same. It's probably the only gun that could be argued as pay2win, but it's by means the best pistol. It's not hard ot outgun a nano with an FBW, as the Nano tends to be a spray weapon rather than clickign whe nyou actually want to shoot like the fbw. And if you were after a spray weapon as your secondary anyway, the PDW and NFA both beat it at that. The RSA and ACT44 both beat the nano at range too. It's really just a gun that lets you get away with being lazy a bit more than most guns do. Again, the value in these legendary guns is not in them being good (they are sidegrades, not upgrades) they are jsut valuable because you can get lucky and get a permanent weapon that you can trade. It doesn't help you win.

You can't by power in APB. In the end, there's only a couple of things that you need to win. The most important is coordination. A coordinated team is a lethal team. There other is experience. You learn the map more, you learn the tendancies of particular skill levels, the playstyles of particular players, you learn the weaknesses and strengths of all the different guns, you learn where the best cover is and where the counter to the best cover is, you learn that you should be aiming down sights when you use an smg or a shotgun, you learn that you can tap-fire with an assault rifle for much better accuracy, you learn that it's really not that hard to figure out the firerate of a semi-auto weapon and click at the right time ot shoot as fast as you can, you learn that having a good teammate with an NHVR on your team can change the tide of any battle, you learn that fairfight is actually doing a pretty good job banning the real cheaters out there and that some people are jsut obnoxiously good at this game, you learn that rocket launchers and grenade launchers are actually pretty terrible, you learn that choosign the NTEC from the tutorials as your permanent gun was the best decision you could've made, you learn that threat and rank mean nothing.

And most importantly, you learn that APB will give you some of your most memorable gaming moments when you play it with a couple friends.

P2W such an over used and poorly used term. People get sore just because the ingame weps arn't permnant and when they see players with Arma guns and have they're asses kicked the first word to come out is P2W.... the vast major part of arma guns are all reskins of the current in game guns you buy off the contacts, only change is that 1 its perm, 2 looks badass, 3 slots for mods ..thats all.

Why would you make a post deliberately trying to put newbies off trying APB just because you can't/too lazy to/can't afford to contribute to Armas?

APB is by far the best game i've ever played, ever. I used to take it for granted and was unintentionally harming the game myself by being toxic, I was banned several times and genuinely learnt my lesson in the end and I'm just grateful G1/Tiggs has so far allowed me the chance to pump more of my cash into Armas to help support the game while staying clean and friendly in action districts.

I don't understand why people donating money to APB via an interactive system that adds value to the game such as Armas would make you so angry, it's much better than just having a "Donate" button with no reward, and Armas weps are all reskins of contact weps any way, my team beat a full armas opp group of silvers & golds earlier and my teammates were bronze! Both of whom weren't premium/Armas.

I use only wep from contact (stabba). Doesn't sound very pay-2-win to me?!? If you really loved APB you'd be happy that there are people who voluntarily pay small amounts of pennies here and there to keep the server running. If it wasn't for the -optional and voluntary- Armas/premium sales there wouldn't be an APB for you to complain about in the first place.

APB is 1000% times better than it was before G1 took over. It's balanced, it's dynamic, it's fun, unique, addictive and the only game of its kind, at least that I know of anyway.

Fairfight - thanks to G1
Wep balancing, new content - thanks to G1/reloaded
Exciting, fun, addictive and there's always new and interesting events more regularly - thanks to G1/Tiggs
Clamping down on griefing, hacking is almost non-existent now - thanks to G1/Reloaded/Tiggs

Take off your rose-tinted glasses if you truly believe a half-finished, mono-tone game riddled with hacks and bugs, griefers and abuse is 'better' than the new APB under G1 is.

/End psuedobrownnosingapologeticallyturningoveranewleaf-type post (subtle huh??)

But what I say is true. Customization is free. Playing is free. Weps are free. It's free to login. Free to shoot. Free to arrest. Free to make your own logos and clothes. It's free-to-play and I would urge all new users to ignore the OP and go see for yourself. APB is in good hands and the current admin team/community management have done an amazing job to turn APB around, player numbers are on the rise and there's lots of exciting things ahead for 2015!

I give free cookies and massages for any newbie who buys something from Armas to keep the server bills paid if they like the game. Optional. VOLUNTARY - I think the OP gets my point now as to why hes wrong about "needing to pay to play" so I'll leave it here and hope any newbies that read this realize OP is lying and will come play :)

It wouldn't be very fun if you sign up and suddenly have every single thing possible in the game. What would be the point playing it?! You've already maxed your char before you've even played!

Besides the logo designer is free and available to use right away to any newbie. You can create your own logos/designs if you haven't unlocked a logo you want yet, why not MAKE IT YOURSELF? Use shapes, lines, circles and layers to get the desired effect. Or go ramraiding earn some quick cash for free and buy what you want from auction sellers in social.

If you e-mailed support they'd help you with your connection problem, and they're already working on an engine upgrade which will allow them to optimize and have it running smoother/faster. I don't think it's fair to judge/portray such a bad image to potential newbies when all these concerns are already being fixed and worked on :)
First things first, my post was from Sept of 2013. I would hope some improvements have been made but I was less than impressed with game OVER A YEAR AGO. Don't go calling me out on items that have changed since I uninstalled the game. I hope the developers have pulled their collective heads out of their rears and listened to the community somwhat, but considering people are still ripping this game to pieces 15 months after I stopped playing, I am not holding my breath.

Yes, nothing quite like grinding away for 4-5 hours so you can make a small purchase. I am glad so much of the population has hours upon hours to spend sitting in front of their computer. Why is it I can BL:R for 3-4 hours a week and have tons of upgrades and customization, but the same amount of time in this game yeilds next to nothing?

It wouldn't be very fun if you sign up and suddenly have every single thing possible in the game. What would be the point playing it?! You've already maxed your char before you've even played!
My complaint was that when you watch the trailers for the game, watch the gameplay trailers, & browse the sample pictures everything is ridiculously customized, most of which is PREMIUM ONLY content. But when you download and install the game you get... nothing. You get a second rate rifle, a pistol that would probably do more damage if thrown, and clothing that makes you look like you are a "personal trainer" at the YMCA gym. You can't even change the color of the clothing. After 12 hours of playing I had some different shoes with 3 color options, a ringer t-tshirt, and a pair of baggy jeans. Ok, so I can look like a 16 year old d-bag on his way to high school, yay.

Besides the logo designer is free and available to use right away to any newbie. You can create your own logos/designs if you haven't unlocked a logo you want yet, why not MAKE IT YOURSELF? Yes, because spending 2-3 hours to design a small logo is the way I want to spend the small amount of time I have to play any games on my PC. Besides, why can't I just use the in game money I earned by playing this god forsaken game to by logos? Oh yeah, I can, if I can save up the money from 8-9 hours of playing.

If you e-mailed support they'd help you with your connection problem, and they're already working on an engine upgrade which will allow them to optimize and have it running smoother/faster. I don't think it's fair to judge/portray such a bad image to potential newbies when all these concerns are already being fixed and worked on
I did email support. Their answer? Sorry, we only have the few servers we have and the nearest on to you is 300 miles away. Really? I might live in a rural area, but we do have running water, electricity, cell phones, DSL/Cable internet, and magic machines that dispense money if you put a magic little plastic card into it. There wasn't even a server in my state. My statement still stands. If I am playing on the server and have a 74 ping, there is no reason for me to be constantly lagging and seeing other players warp from spot to spot, and that is with 0 dropped packets.

Great, they are working on an upgrade, finally. When is it due out? They give a concrete release date yet? I bet they haven't. When I see it released I may give it a shot, but I get the feeling my 7 month old son will be in Kindergarden by then.

So this takes up back around to the beginning of my post. If they have upgraded the game, fixed some issues, and balanced things better, good on them. But all of those things happened AFTER my original post. You act like you are playing a different game than I did.

From what I can tell, especially with your level 0 Steam rating, you are just a shill sent here by the developers to try and call out people. Whats the matter, server populations dropping? Too much bad press and reviews? Tell the developers to stop sucking at their jobs.

Game is not pay2win. It has a steep learning curve and those that have put time into the game are rewarded with upgraded gear. Yes you can buy guns in Armas however, none of them are the end all be all. All guns have their strong points and their weak points. Play the game enough and you will find this out too.
