And hopefully they will allow server transfers, but i dont think that has ever been done yet
Regarding the lack of an Oceanic server, you should realize that Australia + New Zealand combined only have a population of about 21-22M. Very few games actually have Oceanic servers, and APB has a (very) low playerbase (I'm estimating only around 10-20K active players) and is a dying game with a budget deficit. If they were to introduce an Oceanic server it would only be used by a couple of 100 players maximum....probably even less.
as of 2010 Australia has 22m so, yeah not sure where you're from. Anyway, Path of Exile is an f2p mmo that has oceanic servers, yet WoW, the biggest mmo only has servers in the UK and US region (even brazil!? why?) so yeah, i don't even think it comes down to business models, i think it just comes down to lazyness.
I get what you are saying, but G1 definitely does not have any issues when it comes to profit.
I think the reason for lack of oceanic servers lies with having to pay yet another company to run the servers and community, like with the RUS servers, it feels like a completely different game.
How do you think they are able to keep this entire MMO running, with constant updates and NEW festive games, whilst a couple of months ago, designing a WHOLE new mmo (piece of ♥♥♥♥ ill admit) and have just sold rights for an android/ios game. In addition they are basically remaking the whole of apb by migrating everything over to a new engine, which will then allow them to put even more money and work into new systems like weather etc.
These are not the signs of a poor company :D
I would estimate an oceanic server in 2014, as the playerbase for this continent is growing largely for APB, as well as asian servers maybe a year or two after
I'd like to play, but I played both before Reloaded and after, and it was pretty much unplayable from Oz, even with proxy tunneling.
