This is the last thread I'll ever make for this game:

I played this time capsule back in like, 2013 or so... It hasn't aged well and has been ravaged by not one, but two irresponsible companies who didn't want to make the game better, but only to sell G1C (the premium currency).

With 2,000 hours played and multiple max rank characters, I can honestly say it's best days are LONG past. Little Orbit will try to explain that it's trying to change things, but they honestly don't care either.

Ritual, the community manager, told me to make some threads and that things would be different, but they're not. They don't post, they don't reason with the community, they just hide and shovel platitudes in everyone's faces to keep them spending.

Even Blizzard would at least post in bug reports and say, "hey, thanks for taking the time to share this with us, we'll try to fix it!" Even the amount of hoops you have to jump through just to be a trial GM is silly. This game is dead and they force you to sign NDAs, contracts, create multiple new accounts, etc.

It's insane. There's like, 200 players... Why does it matter that I was an "Early Supporter" on Discord? I can't be a GM cause I spent 3 dollars on my Discord like, 5+ years ago? Lmao.

We don't need no water here--just let it burn. It's not a good game or company.


EDIT: People keep bumping my thread or stumbling in here for whatever reason, so I'll just say this: I have well over 2,000 hours played and I can honestly tell you, that trying to play this game now is a waste of time.

They do not deserve your hours or support. They are a business, and a bad one.

i still play, i still have fun. I still get frustrated with the amount of cheaters. I don't think any company can manage the cancerous player base though. I have not seen a game with a worse player base.

Also given your public response to applying for a GM position, i think they made a good call there. You would be far too emotional for the position.

Too emotional for sharing my experience based off a singular thread? I was a World of Warcraft GM for 2 years and then went back to school to become a biologist. You're free to think whatever you want tho, that's not the point of the thread.

They told us things would be different, so I came back to this game and reported 3 bugs, 1 of which had a video too, none of which were even acknowledged by the staff.

Reported it 6 years ago too when another company was in charge, they didn't fix it either. They don't care and I'm moving on.

APB:R is a tarnished, mismanaged dumpster fire and Little Orbit is only concerned with profit margins like every company that buys an IP without knowing any of its lore, nuances, or gameplay fluidity.

They're just volunteers who want the game to not be complete garbage, give them some slack. Ritual and up tho are no good; they're getting paid and should do better.

you need to have a completely fresh discord because little orbit wants a line between gm and personal accounts, you should know this if you're applying for a gm position.

and honestly, nothing is stopping you from becoming a gm because you have a badge in your discord, you're too just stubborn to make a new discord and tbh i can see why you got rejected lmao

There was no difference between that account and a new one except that little arbitrary badge. That's the entire reason I brought it up cause it was so silly.

I wasn't rejected, I told Ritual I wasn't interested in making another work Discord.

Call me stubborn, but there's no 'personal info' you can glean from an Early Supporter badge. You would know this if you actually used Discord.

Nothing wrong with that, just don't give them money honestly.

Any company that doesn't fix an 8 year old UI glitch (or even do the bare minimum and at least acknowledge it's presence) that forces you to completely restart the entire game when you switch characters, doesn't deserve it.

Anyway, I said what I wanted to say. People can infer their own opinions, but over the last 10+ years I've made mine.

So much potential with this IP, but no one seems to know how to truly improve it. It was a pipe dream, I played back when it first came out, even alpha state, and not much has changed since then.

It would be nice to see much larger maps then we have now, new regions to explore, if anything a company would have to buy the IP and rebuild from ground up (imho) to truly make it into something the community desires.

Ah well, RIP among the countless other games that had so much potential.

I am honestly shocked this game is still online and playable. Nearly everyone has quit and anyone who was going to give this game a shot already did.
