Will fair fight ban you if your mouse has a built in auto fire feature?
Because mine does. I didn't even have to set it up. It just has a button for it right next to the left click.

High risk to get rekt by FairFight.

I would not touch it, mate. Even if it is not timed right it might still be picked up by Fairfight.

Better safe than sorry.

This is ridiculous. Alot of people have a built-in macro on their mouse. You don't get banned from fairfight for macros. You get banned for "hacking", trying to inject code, messing with HEX (cheat engine) and serious stuff like that. It will alert FairFight.

This said, macros are in a "grey zone". Macros are more likely to get your account flagged and investigated by a staff member. Hardware macros (such as your mouse) are tolerated. Software macros (such as AutoHotKey) are less, from what I've read in the APB forums, over years.

Feel free to browse the steam forums and APB Reloaded forums to confirm if you are in doubt.

If you use any form of macro you're pretty sad really, the excuse of " but it's built into my equipment " isn't good enough. The fact that you're lazy enough to use such a thing which could be a clear advantage over others is pretty low.

This is not a debate to know if it's cheap or not. Read the question again.

ToS states that macros are not allowed as they give you an advantage that is not in the game.

In which section?

I was able to catch a GM in game and ask him directly about it. He said the rules state that the use of anything outside the game itself to give you a clear advantage over other gamers is against the rules and will get you flagged. Then it will be up person who inspects your account to decide if what you did warrants a ban or not. So in other words its probably best not to use it.

I read the question and i decided to not answer to it, but give insight on what I and others may consider you to be if you decided to use it. Steam threads have never been so strict and it isn't going to start now.

There's your answer anyway. I knew scripted macro's were bannable but to know that they actually consider hardware macro's offensive then that makes me ever the more happier.

Still, i'd be curious to see the ToS statement. I'll take a look on it and i'll copy/paste the section when I got time.

That sounds a bit stupid because I should have a ban because I got a qucik reaction time on my keyboard and mouse. Both are alienware gaming equipment plus I'm using a headset so I can hear footsteps and where they are coming from clearly. So I have an advantage over other players in some ways. Does that mean I should get a ban?

You may be fast, it's not comparable to a macro...

Here is a clear answer:

Built-in macro keys, 3rd part software from hardware (ex: Logitech Gaming Software, Razer Synapse...) WILL NOT get you banned.

Any other 3rd part software, even if it does the same job, cheats, external crosshairs and some overlays WILL most likely get you banned.

Note : I still do not advise you to set your click-rate to something like 1ms using "official" soft.
Note²: That means any software running in background may be flagged as cheat. Close anything useless running before playing APB.

Have a nice day in San Paro :gentlemanrandy:

So if I have an alienware mouse that came with software designed for it means I can set a macro. But still I'm not bothered that much about it. After all it's a game, you win and you loose. That what makes it fun, the challenge.
