Since MAC is considered a computer I believe it will be supported, but IDK as there system requirements site says Windows 10 and above. >w>

Maybe if A. Keen supports it, and B. Apple allows it.
They are only updating physics engine and blocks. The rest of the game, including functionality and compatibility of other systems looks to be a straight Copy/Paste of SE1, unfortunately. I also suspect they signed a 5-7+ year proprietary agreement with mod.io, which is why we won't get Steam Workshop support any time soon, if ever.

Every single question they've answered in regards to added functionality/compatibility outside of the new physics engine and textures was "not currently in the plans" is how I've come to these conclusions.

Sadly the developer environment in MacOS gets more and more complicated as Apple tries to enforce their own overpriced store. But I wish SE2 had MacOS compatibility. My kids have tendency to be at my Windows computer when I want to play something....

They have already announced steam workshop support. It’s coming soon.
It might be possible to get emulation going. Se1 eventually ran on Mac, it wasn’t great though. With new things comes new opportunities and perhaps new challenges.

Best thing you should do for now, is to return that Mac, then buy a computer with supported OS... :selike:
I think (hope) it will be eventually, there is a large gap in the Mac gaming market. The main issue would be justifying it, as
- A lot of older Macs only have 8GB “Unified Memory”, which would mean only M4 or others with overpriced memory upgrades would be able to play SE2.
- I might be wrong about what I perceive as a market gap.
If they did it right (got Apple to start parading them around like the annual game added every year :/ or something like that) I think they could capitalise on that market gap a lot.

Hi, just to let you know a player added that suggestion, 11 days ago, to the Devs "Choice List" on the Official SE2 Support Portal, so the best we can do is to go add our Vote to help :

Space Engineers 2 Mac Support
https://support.keenswh.com/spaceengineers2/pc/topic/47146-space-engineers-2-mac-support

They added the how to participate in that green pin :

Where & How to share your feedback Pin 📌
https://steamcommunity.com/app/1133870/discussions/0/744883366278525029/

That said, keep in mind the SE Devs told the community they want to do the PC with Windows first and Xbox after that should be ready in 3 years.

NOTE

In case some don't know me I must specifiy :

-> I am not a SE Dev but forum Moderator community helper/game tester, also very active player and I help the SE community since 2013 because it's my Favorite Sandbox game on Steam, and they gave me the [Dev] Tag so I can be admin of the Workshop to help more.
