How will water role out in VS3?

When planets are introduced in VS2 they will undoubtedly be dry, since water will not yet be implemented. When VS3 hits, is there any idea on how the water will appear? Will predetermined areas suddenly flood (risking low-level bases and constructions becoming Atlantis), or will the existing VS2 saves stay dry (requiring a new VS3 save to support the water)?

well... to early really to make any guesses. just plan accordingly, when planets come out just plan your base to not be in basin like regions or at low points.

The teasers for the Earth-like (I forget the name) has water in it, so I believe they will add water to that one retrospectively, but I think the Mars one will stay desert. They are definitely adding a dedicated water planet too with VS3, but I take that as the planet is mostly ocean, rather than one that simply has water. But who knows really; I guess worst case having to reset after VS3 isn't going to be too much of an issue in the grand scheme of things

I don't remember what part of the road map it's in but I know it won't be early.

There won't be planets to start, I think they were 2nd or 3rd slice? I need to go back and watch the stream again.

From my understanding of the planet topography for SE2, the pre generated water will basically be lakes and rivers, i.e. contained water.
