Clowns ain't cheap.
Roadmaps don't need dates, they are there just to show what is coming...
for example : there was a lot of "Angry" Gamers after a problem where the Devs were not able to release on time, they now want to avoid this bad situation.
But I can tell you we know what is going on by watching the livestream they do every weeks, they share very good "hints" :
-> Marek said to give them 3 years to make it available for Xbox and that tells us how much time they need to add all the important in.
+
-> Marek said they want to share more Vertical slice and shared only one so far.
=
Conclusion :
-> In my opinion, 2 years for the participant the test all the important, 1 year for the SE programmers to fix all problems and complete the Xbox version.
Makes sense, it's just not the most consumer friendly way to do things.
+
Cool thing is that it will take way less time to add all in compared to SE1 Alpha, as old gamer I can tell Game Devs needed 7 years to complete a game.
-> SE 2 in 3 years is not bad at all.
Steams Early Access rules and guidelines specifically warn developers NOT to provide dates for future updates due to the backlash (on Steam and the Dev) when things don't go as planned. Roadmap dates appear as and are interpreted as promises and commitments and that creates issues.
Hence no dates for SE2 roadmap. I suspect that once a release is ready for release and in final internal QA test they will provide a target date like they did for VS 1.
If they dont add a completion date you will whine about that aka this post. If they would release this game in alpha more feature complete you will whine it took to long. If they release it now you will whine that they did not take their time to get it right!.
Therefor if i was a dev i would not listen to all you clowns and arm chair devs who never wrote a lick of code in your life nor have you developed ANYTHING in your life. you know NOTHING and it is so obvious because posts like this exist.

I guess we’ll see how accurate I was in a year or so.
We'll blame you for false hope in a year or so. :P
What I really don't understand is how multiplayer seems to be a very low priority right now even though that's what's missing the most for the majority of people.
Sure it's nice to play around with the new grid, blocks (even if there are a lot missing) and so on, but we can't even test how all these fancy new things interact with each other when there is an internet connection involved.
You don't have to understand it,
Regardless if you identify your self as one of the KHS devs, or a nobody-end user.
Its not your job, or your rights to UNDERSTAND why multiplyer is not important as of this time, specially if you already ___ked SE2's Eula Agreement and Early access by PLAYING* SE2.
off you GO!!!
Of course someone with a private profile comes out with the dumbest take today.
No, as a consumer it isn't only our right to voice our concerns about products, we NEED to do it.
In the end it's healthy for everyone besides mentally ill shills that feel personally attacked if the company they simp for gets criticized.
I follow developers and game development in general now for decades. And the simple answer why it is not included yet is: it is not ready for release. Btw. that was also the answer from Mark to that topic.
Multiplayer works already internally, but internally is not over the internet. They first need to get all stuff in a playable state before they can release it for us. Or would you prefer to play a near unplayable multiplayer which only makes some SE2 owners again mad?
Keen want to bring features then when they are good enough for us to play with them. They don't want to use as alpha testers more as it is needed. Especially this days players are much more sensitive to bugged games, even when they are in heavy development where it is normal to have more bugs.
