Just stop.
Y'all need to seriously just stop. The original release was far from perfect, but was still a gorgeous work of art. This remaster, port, whatever you want to call it in your nerd rage, isn't as bad as you make it to be.

In the time I've played it, I've seen ONE screen tear, that I remember from the old Playstation release, and that's when the camera is panning in at the start of combat, and I see it RARELY. The character models have been updated, the music remastered, and sounds cleaner than before, and they've improved the dialogue character art. I'm not at all sorry that it doesn't run at 4k on your super expensive monitor at 120-300fps. Keep in mind this game back in the day probably clocked in at thirty fps IF your PSX wasn't over heating, due to poor ventilation design, and the fact you likely had it stored in the smallest space in your entertainment center.

As much as I love newer and flashier titles like Horizon, the Tomb Raider Reboot series, Elden Ring, Anything from Bethesda, Fallout76(Ignoring Gameplay the world is freaking gorgeous.), Cyberpunk 2077 or Assassin's Creed: Valhalla, I feel like this drive has ruined the gaming industry. Remakes like the FFVII remake, spoiled the younger generation. Now if a game doesn't have ray tracing, and run at insane FPS, with stunning up to date graphics, you pretty much hate on it, before it's even released, like a good number of you were, because you thought they were changing up the soundtrack.

Play the game. Give it an honest to god shot. Stop looking for flaws intentionally so you have a reason to ♥♥♥♥ on it. If you don't like it because the story or the mechanics bore you, fine. Refund it and go on your way. But stop trying to force feed us your hate and sway us to your side.

And if you have LEGITIMATE issues with the game, than write a review. But make it a good one. Don't just spew hate on it.

The game has performance issues, that's a fact and it's understandably making some people feel dissatisfied.

From crashes to the game not opening to really big FPS drops. But it seems the issues are related to specific GPUs and drivers as many people with old devices claim to run the game fine. Others managed to fix with VSync or Low Latency options in their GPU options. (Personally I tried tweaking my GPU config for a while but I still get 10 FPS during battle).

Let people voice their issues and complains. We all wanted this game to succeed.

The emulation layer is crap, period. There is nothing wrong with using an emulation layer, but this one is terrible, really terrible.

Give it a week, or so, should get better with all the feedback. Hopefully the game crashes aren't too frequent.

So I think every game has problems, and everyone have differrent issues depending on their rig ( that is why making games for console are a little bit easier since the console is the same for everyone).

Ive seen ppl saying thay had fps issues, others were slow mouse movement etc... Any game would have problems here and there.

But ppl voicing their complaints arent the problem imo its the hate that some ppl shows. I think that before going up and arms, they should at least let SE a couple days/week to fix it.. I mean the game released today.

Also, its hard to release a pc game with no bugs or issues, because like I said, everyone has a different rig so it make it so some ppl can play the game perfectly fine while others not so much.

It's one thing to say you have issues with a game, but the majority of these "complaints" as you call them, are just saying the game is trash because it's not this, or not that, or doesn't have this.

As for the issue with not launching, the ONLY people I see having that issue are people who were to foolish to update from Windows Seven, which is obviously no longer a supported OS. So that's on them.

But yeah to be more clear. This is aimed at the people who wanted unrealistic things from such an old game, and then down on it because it didn't meet them, they called the game trash, and tell people not to buy it. Especially since it's just a twenty dollar TWO title sell.

I could understand some of the rage if it were higher priced than this, for what we got. But this honestly feels like the old title just smoothed over graphically for me, and for the price I am VERY happy.
yes its bad if I CANT EVEN OPEN IT WITHOUT IT CRASHING EVERYTIME

Apparently people are not allowed to point out lazy ports in 2022 anymore. We have to be happy with every single PC port that companies throws at us.

^ And this ladies and gentlemen, is exactly why we get ports like Chrono Cross: Radical Dreamers Edition. A well deserved mediocre standard port to an audience with mediocre standards.

Since when it became taboo to call out faults of a big company? Some fanboys go on some insane ego stroking tantrum when people dare to point out problems in a game or anything else as if that company is their god. Heaven forbids we criticize a AAA company to have some form of standards. This is why so many things are going to crap, you got a bunch of crazies throwing their tantrums because others don't want to bend over and take it like they do. Pathetic

well just griping about issues does nothing.. if you have a problem. post your system specs including operating system. this would help people diagnose and possibly point out the issue. and maybe send those with issues forward to places they can let squeenix know the issues and they can be fixed

i have

win10 21H1
ryzen 3 3100
16gb 3000mhz ddr4
geforce 1660 super

i have 0 issues with the game running and no frame rate issues

i DO have an audio issue that i'm attributing to something wonky happening with my razer headset interacting with the game diagosed by switching to 3.5mm jack and switching to the realtech audio source and it went away. listening through my DAC it's there. it's ignoring my having turned off surround stereo in my razer settings

How do you report a bad topic?
Ludus Aurea Apr 7, 2022 @ 11:51pm
I've only spent 20 minutes but here's my summary so far:
-The UI is fine if not better
-The 2D character portraits are better
-The soundtrack is perfect AF as expected, 17/10
-I literally can't tell if they improved the backgrounds or not
-They didn't even TRY to upscale the CG movies and they look absolutely horrible - like almost as bad as the CG movies in Ninja Gaiden Sigma 1 PC release where Tecmo/TN literally didn't make any attempt at all to upscale the videos.

The one real issue I've seen is extreme screen tearing whether Gsync and Vsync are enabled or not.

That said, every single one of these things was expected from Square Enix.

You clearly didn't read the whole post. Let me give you the TL;DR. If you have a legitimate complaint, voice it professionally. If you're a useless self entitled troll, shut up, get your refund and stop trying to dictate what we play.

I like the new portraits with the exception of Kidd who looks seriously drugged.

Also why am I not experiencing any of the fps/screen tearing issues others are being plagued with? Maybe I'm being paid back for all my suffering/performance issues with the port of Eldenring.

I haven't noticed any FPS issues either. As for screen tearing, I think a lot of it you REALLY have to be looking for to notice it. I've only noticed the one instance, and it was an issue from the original, but I never paid much attention to it, so I don't see it as much as I probably should.
