Wow, I'm sure no one on here has discovered that. This post was totally nessesary!
Yea, I know I am stating the obvious to some people, but not everyone.
Just trying to stop as many people form wasting their money as I can, or at least get a refund.
I felt quite ripped off.
Exactly what I was trying to say, it's horribly emulated, and being sold at a premium price.
You demand a 30-year old game be remastered to fit ideas and speeds it was never designed for or intended to run at and get mad when it runs like the vanilla, unmodified PSX version instead when it was never advertised that it would run as more than that. You're demanding something that was never offered to begin with and refusing to admit that your expectations are flawed and unrealistic. And as for emulators, not everyone wants to spend hours trying out different settings just to get a configuration where it might work. They want to just play the game, and the remaster allows that.
Start qualifying your statements rather than making broad accusations of badness. Speak only in terms of your own experience while acknowledging that it is not everyone's. Hate is the new love, apparently, and you people seem to love to hate. Logically, if some people are having issues while others are not, as is the case here, then the game itself isn't the issue or the sole issue. People's systems and how much they have open at the same time (and the kinds of programs) are, yet they're too proud to admit it. Or to admit that it's impossible to anticipate how the game may interact with hundreds of thousands of different system configurations and develop accordingly.
I have no demands for a perfect remaster and my faith is pretty low in SquareEnix anymore. I'm happy playing the old games on an emulator with shaders and upscaling even though I did waste my money on this one.
And it really does affect the product. FF9 is running on its original code in Unity engine and it's great for that. One of the best mobile ports I've ever played and easy to mod on PC to be the best version possible.
True, but they kept the Final Fantasy Data, though that's their biggest franchise (Not X though, they rebuilt X from the ground up)
You think they'd keep some small tape backup somewhere but understandable.
Still it's sad to see this handled so poorly
The worst part was they whipped up the emulator just for this game.... you;d think it would be optimized.
why didn't they do the same for Chrono Cross?
