Switch's advantage for now is portability if you don't have a Steam Deck yet.
Switch always had performance issues here and there on old and newer games. So its nothing new there.
As such, I buy most of my games on here now.
Plus yeah modding.. the first thing I did when I started playing the FF6 pixel remaster the other week was to get the SNES font replacement mod - we'll probably see similar things here or stuff surrounding the soundtrack etc. also.
yea i was all for possibly getting it on Switch to have an excuse to finally turn my Switch on. but reading in a few places today from reviewers that it has performance issues, is making me lean to get the PC version now. also, a bit off topic, I bought Chrono Trigger on steam a while back on a good sale but never played it. but i installed it last night. think i'll play through this first. i dont think i have enough time to beat that before this release though! xD
I'm a good 30hrs in and it'll be in the conversation for my GOTY by the end of 2022.
Live-A-Live in July and Front Mission remake TBA are on my list for upcoming purchases.
I too don't really play the switch all that often, but they still get me with the exclusives now and then :)
oooh ok. thanks for the suggestions. ill take a look. and yes, my Switch and PS4 are pretty much for exclusives ONLY. everything else is on PC
There is zero reason for anyone to bother with the soundtrack, outside of 1) Actually replacing the OST with non-OST versions or 2) Changing the launcher music, which is where the "horrible arrangements" are.
