Well I’m hearing today that the Switch version of this game is performance issues. Wonder how the steam version will be
It's an easy choice if you have the option of choosing between the 2. PC 100%

The Switch version has really poor performance, so avoid that one.

PC if you want achievements, usually better performance and faster loading.
Switch's advantage for now is portability if you don't have a Steam Deck yet.

What I wonder is that if the switch has poor performance, what says the PC won't do as well, too? I mean, I will not go all doomsayer before its release but considering SE's usual ports.
Playing in 4k. Perhaps added fps to play higher than 60fps. Just these things alone make the decision a no brainer. PC :100percent:

Switch always had performance issues here and there on old and newer games. So its nothing new there.
I'm on PC, but that's mostly because at this point I've invested money into PC and Monitors more than tvs and such because I value this platform more than the others. At this point what consoles I have rarely ever get used and mostly collect dust. My PC is used everyday, gaming wise or not, so I value putting more attention here.
As such, I buy most of my games on here now.

Reading some of the performance issues in almost every review makes this a definite PC leaning one if you're still interested at all; possibilty of mods or pcgamingwiki tweaks/fixes to maybe get it to a more workable state.

Plus yeah modding.. the first thing I did when I started playing the FF6 pixel remaster the other week was to get the SNES font replacement mod - we'll probably see similar things here or stuff surrounding the soundtrack etc. also.

yea i was all for possibly getting it on Switch to have an excuse to finally turn my Switch on. but reading in a few places today from reviewers that it has performance issues, is making me lean to get the PC version now. also, a bit off topic, I bought Chrono Trigger on steam a while back on a good sale but never played it. but i installed it last night. think i'll play through this first. i dont think i have enough time to beat that before this release though! xD

If you're looking for an excuse then atleast play the demo for Triangle Strategy, and maybe see how that fancies you.

I'm a good 30hrs in and it'll be in the conversation for my GOTY by the end of 2022.

Live-A-Live in July and Front Mission remake TBA are on my list for upcoming purchases.
I too don't really play the switch all that often, but they still get me with the exclusives now and then :)

There is zero reason for anyone to bother with the soundtrack, outside of 1) Actually replacing the OST with non-OST versions or 2) Changing the launcher music, which is where the "horrible arrangements" are.

I've heard two different accounts of the soundtrack, still not sure if the OG was 'replaced' or if the controversial new arrangements are just included as bonus extras.
