Lost save files

Hi! So I transferred laptops (after not playing steam games for quite a while) and I was so excited to boot the game up and load my old saves only to find that they're all gone along with all my collected CGs. I still have the DLCs and my achievements are still there so I'm not really sure how or if I can fix this? Any advice would be awesome but in the worst case scenario I just replay the game from scratch (which isn't bad because I love this game, just a tad annoying I lost my different saves.)

Our Life doesn't use Steam Cloud, so the game only saves to the computer you play on. To continue your old saves, you'd have to get the files off of your old laptop and copy or move them to the new one using a USB drive or some other external storage device.

Hey, thanks for the question and the answer, I have the same problem. Unfortunately I can't find out where the files are stored on my old computer (even with saving a new file on the new one I can't find the directory where the game files are stored. Since there doesn't seem to be a way to choose a filepath when saving, I assume this happens automatically to a standard directory. Could you tell me where the game saves are stored by default?

If you never changed where your steam games install, the game’s folder should be at the end of this path C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common
In the "Our Life Beginnings And Always" folder is a "game" folder and the "saves" folder is in there.

Otherwise:
If you still have the game installed, you can right-click the name of the game in the list on the left side of your steam library to bring up a small menu (there’s also a gear icon on the right side of the game’s library page that brings up the same menu). In that menu, go to “Manage” and select “Browse local files” to bring you directly to the "Our Life Beginnings And Always" folder. In that folder, open the “game” folder and the “saves” folder is in there.

If the game isn’t installed, you can reinstall it to use the above method or use the above method with another installed game and just go back a folder to find the rest of your steam games that have files on your computer. If nothing is installed and you don’t want to reinstall anything, you can find the game in your computer’s File Explorer app. Open the File Explorer app and click on “This PC” on the left side, then go to the top right and use the search function. Searching “Our Life” should bring the game’s folder up directly after a bit of loading. Open it, open the “game” folder, and then you’ll find your “saves” folder.
