Whats everyone's favourite personality for Cove?
I'm having difficulty choosing which personality to give to Cove. What is everyone's opinion on it? Do you like it better when hes at warm personality, cold personality, or in the middle?

Interestingly, My default for my current run has him cold and sporty. I wonder which of my choices made that happen?

I've never tried anything but warm, and for his interests, I like to vary depending on what I think is the best at the moment.

During my first playthrough i decided to go in blind and not change anything on Cove, but looking back now i'm pretty sure i ended with warm and studious.

After that, with the exception of one playthrough where i had him on cold/sporty, all my other playthroughs i made cove warm/sporty as i like that combination the best. (And now that i think about i should prob experiment with middle ground too, got me curious on the dialog changes lol)

I think it lies on what you created your own character's personality to be. In my case MC is the more extroverted and bold one, so I prefer cold cove as a bit of an opposites situation

Warm, Sporty, and High Intensity~
whatever Cove ends up in that playthrough. I never touch the cove creator. he's always amazing Cove. :)

My first playthrough my default Cove had high, but not max, warmth and max sporty so that feels like canon Cove to me. (Tbh, I didn't understand the stone skipping question was breaking the 3rd wall and thought it was just how impressed I was.)

I know you're not supposed to think of it this way and it's just how Cove grew up, but I kinda feel bad making him any less than mid sporty. Like he gave up something he loved just to match my complete lack of athleticism. I'm sure he's really happy on the other extreme still, but I only did it on my complete opposite playthrough that I never finished so idk.

I feel like mid warm matches best with a nervous/introverted character imo. With cold there were a few times where it was just the same scene but without any comments or extras because of both of our actions. He still relates to an introverted MC a lot and it was really sweet when he stood up for them. To be fair most of the moments are minor, so if I hadn't played the other way around first I don't think I'd feel like I was missing much, but since I did it feels really obvious. Those little touches helped give my MC a reason to feel bold enough to initiate and want to get closer. I try to RP (and find it really easy thanks to their amazing writing and choice tracking) so even though we all know Cove definitely likes you at everything but disinterest my MC wouldn't be too sure with a Cold Cove.

I do think it'd be interesting to see how how a cold Cove at Love would react to a nervous MC never confessing someday though.

I would say it really depends on what you want to match with your MC. My first playthrough I did more how I would personally respond to situations and got a Warm and Studious Cove with Middle initiative. I enjoyed it, but like Medicell mentioned I felt bad about him losing interest in the sporty side of things because it felt like he'd given something up. I didn't mind the personality, but I did make changes and have done quite a few playthroughs since then.

For example, one of my favorite MCs, Dani, operates at the nervous or relaxed level and has anxiety, so with her playthrough I found I enjoyed the dialogue more with a Candid Cove with Mixed interests and Middle initiative.
On the other spectrum, one of my other favorite MCs, Melody, is very Direct and has a habit of putting her foot in her mouth so she tends to have more fun with a Sporty, Cold Cove with High initiative that she can tease.
All the different combinations are fun regardless.

am really curious how a playtrough would be if your character would be very warm and cove's character would be very cold

The worst combination I've ever made and still regret is making a nervous crushing MC with a full on cold cove. That's a dealbreaker combination, tell ya what.
I might make more playthroughts experimenting with colder Cove, but man, I am not a big fan of it.

I actually played with a nervous crushing MC with a Cold Cove once and didn't really mind it personally. The warm and cold options seemed more like the difference between him being extroverted or introverted. While the responses were more subdued, he still came to the MCs aide alot and seemed to have just as much fun. I tend to like dry humor though, so I still found the more deadpan responses funny and enjoyable. The only time I felt like it was more trying to play through it with him on the cold option is if I also gave him low initiative.

I never ever toyed with Cove's personality actually. I always wanted the game to decide so i don't actually know how it works. However, personally I like a high initiative Cove for step 3 - I like to imagine he has understood more on how to handle love or something. I've always liked how he becomes a wreck around love in step 2 it's just really cute lol

I didn't noticed much difference between the personalities whatever is yours or his. Instead the level of how much you like him unlock or not new cut scenes. I advice anyone to start with "FOND" when they're kids.

Because:
- Cove will remember forever your favorite flower and gift it to you if you pick "Poppy" and offer it to MC twice during the rest of the game when you date him.
- Cove as a kid during the ghost trip will offer you to hold hand, I was shocked lmao That was so adorable

I don't understand the system. At all.
What does the "Warm" and "Cold" ACTUALLY mean?

I picked "Cold" because I assumed he'd be the strong, silent type, or possibly the cold/sociopath type on the outside because he's in pain on the inside (as is typical of romance games) (Usually the type that shows they care about you by insulting you or claiming the nice thing they do is just them being selfish and they don't ACTUALLY care, even if you know they do.)

But in this game, it appears that 'cold' ACTUALLY means 'shy'. But if it does, why not just go with 'shy' vs 'social'? It makes no sense.

Can anyone explain how Cove acts differently with Cold and Warm personality types?

The way I interpreted it is because the author intended Cove to be autistic, the warm vs. cold personalities had more to do with his forms of expression and willingness to socialize. I found with the warm personality type this predominantly seemed to mean he's a little more at ease, more outgoing, and was also more willing to make friends with the other characters in the game outside of the MC. The Cold personality seemed to mean that while he's still friendly, he's also more withdrawn, more quiet with his responses, and not as comfortable with socializing with others unless the MC is with him. That's just my personal opinion based on my playthroughs anyway.
