So about Step 4

Spoilers obviously for Step 4 but in my game MC proposes to Cove during the trip. I was wondering if anyone got Cove to propose to their MC instead?

apparently there are two ways cove can propose in step 4 and i can't wait to find out both of them

I did mostly because
(1) I'm a sucker for the game love interest(s) proposing and
(2) Since my MC was the one who initiated the first big step in the relationship I wanted Cove to have his turn.

Also, I think the scene I got ended up feeling more special because I had told him about the deal as kids. Because he proposed with his half of the 20 dollar bill (and saying MC is his other half) and the fact that it was at night surrounded by fireflies. So it felt like it went full circle.

that is ridiculously sweet omg. can you tell me what choices you picked to get to that? kinda feel like replaying so i get the proposal

In my case it was during the trip on the Poppy Hill , where he proposed by Hangman game.

Propably it happend because Cove played with MC the Hangman not only during Step 2, but also during Step 3 DLC Scene in which MC get seasick.

I think it was pretty sweet moment, but I saw picture in which the Proposal happend on the Beach. Wonder what depend?

That beach photo i think is from the MC proposing. You get to choose between proposing on the hill or on the beach.

I actually found out that Cove is pretty slick and can propose to you 4 different ways on the poppy hill at night.

I got that one as well, and it felt just perfect. Also the announcment to everyone afterwards made it so much more special. Especially after playing the whole thing, starting immediatly at Crush level, getting into a relationship that came out officialy at the end of step 2, and only growing from there during Step 3...
The proposal was very Cove-like, and that's just perfect that way.

Does Cove keep his half of the 20 dollar bill if you told him not to get the key chain as kids? and that's how he propose to you?

How do you get him to propose to you in step 4 on the beach and you see the white poppies from the ending song?

In his proposal to me, he held out a firefly in his hand and used it as a sort of wedding ring, talking about how the fireflies were so important to him throughout our lives because he always thought of me whenever they would come out. It was a beautiful scene and I cried because of how precious it was. He explained it way better than I ever could though.

What triggers the different variations might probably be what happend in your run. In mine, my MC and Cove played hangman, but I also choose to reveal his dad's deal on step 1, triggering the teared bill.
There's probably some sort of priority, since I got the half-bill proposal instead of the hangman, so my guess is that the bill takes priority over hangman. If you get neither events, maybe it then goes for the fireflies proposal.
It's all guesswork.
