If you play Baxter Step 3, should you also re-play the old Step 3 content?

I am not sure. Maybe I should ignore the non Baxter-DLC content in step 3? So far he doesn't appear, and maybe it is just pointless, since it only contains Cove-focussed stories? Or are there parts influencing me (I just say, dance skills). So I am not certain.

I'd wish to hear your approach in this. ^^

If you replay the Step 3 content,Baxter will still only show up in "Late Shift" and "Boating" as an extra - it doesn't seem like any of the content changed there and I don't recall seeing anything mentioned in his DLC of those encounters. The only content that changes is "Hang". Similar to "Soiree", the scene will drastically change if you opt to invite Baxter to hang with you Cove Miranda and Terri.

If you are dating Baxter before you do the boating trip you can inform Lee that your dating him when you ask about inviting him along. similar to that, the game recognizes that you are familiar with Baxter's condo if you are dating him if you are not working yet and choose to hang out with him. there are a few mentions here and there (I was a beta tester so I played it quite a few times both skipping and not skipping stuff)

I think if you take the drive with Cove to Nevada it's mentioned at some point because Baxter takes that long drive out to visit friends of his parents. It's either mentioned during the drinks portion or when they take the trip to the mountains.

if you're just looking to play the new content related to Baxter you for sure don't need to do anything about Shiloh, the trip to the farm market, library or any of those type of events. they will have no effect on Baxter's step 4. if you're at least friends with Cove I'd say at least do Talks because that is where the game reaffirms your character's sexuality. if you're not friends the pop up never happens and the game uses an alternative way of having Derek or Baxter ask if you'd be interested in dating a guy. (this happens anyway, but it's the only way it works if you're not friends with cove)

How do you date Baxter?

Fastest way is to play "sightseeing" in his DLC while on Crush then select the choice if he's single and about his dating past, make sure not to say that you had a crush on him in Step 2 or currently like him. If you do all of that near the end of sightseeing he'll ask you out.

Oh wait, when I was playing I told him he was my first crush in step 2 and he still asked me out at the end of the night? I was also playing a super shy character though so maybe that's why he still took the initiative? Curious now about what other choices might contribute to that.

Ohhhh yeah, it looks like it's if he's your first crush currently that he won't ask you (which makes sense considering his character now that I think about it). Thanks for the clarification!
