Which version of Step 2 Soirée for Baxter?

Which version of Soirée should we pick in Step 2 for Baxter. And is there a certain option we should choose as far as guest? Go alone? Bring someone as a friend?

I'm thinking going alone would end up with the most fun when we encounter him in step 3, given fun conversations the options when you meet him again. But, knowing GB, there's probably some fun to be had if you meet him with Derek as well.

I believe you have to have the DLC, but yes

You have to have one of the two DLC to gain access to soiree either way - either step 2 expansion for Cove (go with Cove or go alone) or Derek one (go with Derek or alone).

I have both the extension dlc, dereks dlc, and then baxters. but if you do dereks events before the soriee event and get close with him and his family and then pick the event, then he'll choose to hangout with you instead of his family. Atleast that's what I did and it worked out pretty well. I think just getting to know his family more makes him more attached to you and his mum is good with him spending the day with you. From then on throughout the event, you get a choice to walk around and you should choose yes in what ever option of yes suits you. (p.s. this is just what I did :D) You'll end up at another part of the golf course or where the event is held and then you'll end up meeting him eventually I think if you search out people to ask about stuff or so on.

I did meet Baxter in Derek's route with Derek in Soiree. And I ended up doing in Cove's but took Derek instead--so it was before i did the other stuff. but you're totally right. it plays better if you have more of a relationship with the family.

I ended up going to the Soiree alone with Baxter's route. and it played out nicely. My boy looking for a dance partner and... <3
So that if others wonder the same thing I did, they know there are options :)

If you do the original expansion DLC, choose to go alone instead of with Cove and you'll meet and get to dance with Baxter at the Soiree. If you do the Derek DLC, choose to go for a walk with Derek and you'll meet Baxter when you party crash his event. You won't get to dance with Baxter, but he'll let you know he's interested in crashing your soiree later (you won't get to meet with him again though).

I haven't done the Baxter DLC after going solo to the soiree, but if you go to the soiree with Derek, Baxter will remember and comment about Derek a few times when brought up in his DLC and Derek will comment about Baxter when speaking with him over the phone if you kept in touch with him.

If you skip taking Derek and take Cove, you can still dance with Baxter. If you click the dialogue that says something like "look around for someone to dance with" during the soiree moment, Baxter will ask you to dance regardless of if you brought Cove or not. That's how I've been doing it :)

That is SO Baxter-like, lol. He sees Jamie already in the company of a boy, ask them to dance regardless. Thats bold!

To add on to what people are saying, if you go with Cove with your relationship as a friend, even if you offer to dance with with Cove, he'll turn you down, so you are then allowed to go hunt for a dance partner, and get Baxter.
