Derek DLC Ending

Is there different endings on step 4? Because in the features you can read: "Allows you to form a deeper relationship with Derek Suarez (platonic or romantic)" and I don't know if I get the most platonic one.

I've only seen the romantic ending, and assumed there's an ending for both platonic and romantic routes.
If you're looking for romantic ending, did you confess on the first day on the balcony? That's what I did and afterwards it was pretty clear I was on romantic route right until the end.

You can only confess at the beginning, but Derek can confess near the end if you want to wait for that! Though, you have to not be in love with/dating Cove in order to pursue Derek romantically.

How do you confes at the beginning?

Be at crush or love with Derek and don't be in love with/dating Cove. At the start of Step 4, after the apartment tour ends, the MC can think about wanting to be with Derek and decide to let him know.
