Not getting Derek Ending after step 3

I have done 2 playthroughs skipping already read dialogue. And yet I agree to Derek's deal and keep in contact,(i even kissed him to agree to the deal) i have tried doing all DLC and and main things with Cove only keeping him at Fond never going to crush, and even tried just skipping all of them, yet i don't get the Derek ending. I get the phonecall with Derek at the end of step 3 but then it just jumps to the Cove step 4 with us as friends and basic interactions with Derek =( its made me sad im still missing 2 CG's....am i doing something wrong or is it a bug?

I did all the things the game recommended did i mess up in step 2 by doing Cove interactions/DLC? any help would be great.

so long as you did all of derek's moments (siblings, boardwalk, lemonade, soiree, and responsible) and kept in contact with him, you should get the option to do derek's step 4.

nope it didnt happen for me for some reason....i did all of dereks DLC in step 2 its why im asking if Cove's DLC might conflict somehow..... (TOOK A LONG TIME TO REPLY DUE TO STEAM GUARD ERROR ¬_¬) oops caps sorry

Ohh, that's something to watch out for and avoid, I imagine that might catch a LOT of players if they scroll back and forth between screens before ending summer. Thanks for coming back and explaining what happened!

Wait what?! good thing I just started step 3 so I can go back and make sure that I ended on the right page because I did everything in step 2 so I'm not sure which page I ended on so yeah thanks for sharing this.

I hope they see this and fix it or at least let new players know it's a thing.

Omg, I don't have a save close to the end of step 2 so now I have to play it all again I just spend the last 2 days playing it.

Hello! Ending Step 2 on Cove's page or Derek's page doesn't impact the story. The "and then summer ended" button has the same function no matter what and isn't connected to the flags that unlock Derek Step 4.

However, there were some bugs where it could end up that the game thought you didn't do Soiree for Derek's DLC even if you did, and that can lock you out of getting the Step 4 epilogue. We'll be releasing a bug patch for that soon!

I've been having the same problemmmm, it's so frustrating! It just keeps going to Cove's platonic ending. I've tried deleting and reinstalling. I thought the problem might have been because I was on the same file as the one I did Cove's in but nope. I tried a new file, skipped through all the already-read dialogue, and finished all of the step 2 story things, and it still didn't work. I don't understanddd am I doing something wrong??? I even watched videos and it still didn't work.

Did you do all five of Derek's Moments, including his version of Soiree? If you do Cove's version of Soiree you can't continue Derek's story since his events have to be completed.

Sorry for the late reply, I took a little break from the game considering I spent hours on it but, I did try that and yet still got the Platonic ending? I reset it, deleted it, turned the DLC back on and off, and nothing. It's frustrating because the screen won't pop up where you choose the ending ughh, I get that you guys try your best on the game, I don't like complaining especially when I know that the person/people worked hard, overall the game is great but I do wish it was fixed on my end. Thanks for all you guys do XoXo, the games you make are phenomenal

Sounds like you're doing Cove version of step 4. After you finish step 3, if you have Derek and/or Baxter DLCs and they're installed, there should be a choice of which epilogue (step 4) to run. To get Derek's ending, you need to choose his epilogue. And the same with Baxter.
