No-Altering-Feelings?

If I start Act 1 without increasing the 'feelings', like, how I imagine it's meant to be played.. Can I still get a perfect ending? Or special interactions? Like, does it increase on it's own, or do I have to personally mess with the bars?

You have to move the bars yourself.

You can still end up with Cove. There are no bad endings or anything like that from choices outside of the sliders at each step and how you choose to approach the relationship with Cove. You can keep him from doing certain things, but you have to choose options during that step for it to happen. You do have to move the bars yourself, like Tellah said though, they won't move on their own.

So if you're indifferent to Cove in step one and move the slider to fondness or crush in step 2, Cove will react the same way. He always reciprocates MC,s feelings towards him. It does play out differently depending on what you choose. I've done crush from the get go and indifference to fondness to love. Both were enjoyable and different enough for me.

Yeah, Our Life is free for all type of VN rather than an affection point based VN where you make certain choices to get the best ending. If you want your story to be about love at first sight, you can move the bar up to Crush right in Step 1. If you want to take some time for the two to grow closer, you can leave the bar lower and only move it later in the game. The bar won't move on its own, the game will just assume you want to stay distant to Cove and leave it like that. You're not cheating by setting the relationship to whatever you want it to be.

Hmm.. If that's the case, i might base my next playthrough off a character from another LGBTQ+ game and make him outgoing, friendly, and Fond during act 1, then crush in act 2, then.. Well, you get the picture. ^^ I went with the sarcastic, flirty type this time, but if I have control over feelings, I suppose that makes it kinda interesting xP

Side note, Derek is friggin' adorbs. I'm surprised there's not separate routes to start off as his age and have the same youth>teen as Cove A separate story DLC like that would be cool. :>
