Device Issues:

If your game has flashing or glitching images, you can usually solve that with this:
Pressing Shift + G and change the renderer. Changing it to ANGLE renderer.

If the game doesn't install, crashes, or is reported as having a virus. We use Python programming files in the game and those are sometimes falsely flagged as being dangerous. That can mean your firewall/virus scanner may block the game from being installed, remove the file from your computer sometime after it's installed, or force the game to stop then crash while playing. Turning your scanner off while installing/playing, seeing if the antivirus program needs an update, and/or finding a way to tell the scanner that Our Life is safe are ways to potentially fix the problem.

Crashing/Install problems are also sometimes caused by issues with settings for your graphics card(s).

Uninstalling the game and clearing the cache is sometimes needed if you're trying to update the game/add a DLC and it's not working.

If you find a typo, script inconsistency, bug or any other issue with Our Life you're welcome to tell us about it here.

If you played the demo or a beta build, please remember to start the game with the New File button rather than continuing. There will be errors for sure unless you start the complete version totally fresh. Old save files can be cleared out by hovering over them and hitting the "delete" key on your keyboard.

Also, if the engine does report an error, you can hit "ignore" and almost always the game will continue from there. In most cases you won't lose your file or have to stop playing the game entirely.

Can you let me know what system you're using? For now, you could try uninstalling, clearing the Steam download cache, and trying to download it again. And if you can get command keys to work with the game open you can do this-

Hi thank you for getting back to me I tried all the things you suggested and they sadly haven't worked at all. I use a x64-bit operating system if you need to know more please do let me know.

hey uh, I somehow got the 'Derek 2' DLC photo in the gallery, even though I have not installed the Derek DLC at all. Is this a glitch on my end?

Edit: I don't remember getting that photo at all

I'm sorry that didn't help. You could try to see if your computer has a virus scanner or firewall that is blocking you from downloading the game properly. The game uses Python and some virus scanners will randomly decide that's dangerous, even if it worked fine before.

Oh my gosh I finally figured it out! I had to use the steam screenshot feature to see the render settings thank you so much for all your help!

I appreciate the extra info. The flag to unlock it must not be in the right place. It's in the base scene instead of only the DLC version.

not sure if this is still an active thread, but i figure i'll give it a shot. i recently decided to replay OL1 for the first time in forever, and now i'm at step 3 and have noticed something weird. when setting Cove as "Cold" and/or "Sporty," the in-game text meant to be customized by these choices doesn't match up. when he's supposed to be "Sporty," text in the introduction describes him as being studious and academic. when he's set as "Cold" the texts talks about how he "really opened up over the years" and he acts as if he's been set as the opposite.

now, i love Cove regardless of any option, but it's an inconsistency that i don't remember encountering when i first discovered the game. i haven't had this problem in any other step, and it specifically occurs with the "Cold" and "Sporty" settings. all the other ones act as intended

Thanks for letting me know! Did you use the Cove customization feature or leave it up to the choices you made? Those use different flags so I'm not sure which system might be having the problem.

i tried it with both, actually. i prefer to let his personality be decided by fate, but what i like to do is peek into the customization without changing anything before playing the next step, just so i can see what i'm working with. then i'll roll back to a sightly earlier save to be sure nothing gets changed. after doing that and noticing the text inconsistencies, i went in to actually manually select and save the options but was still met with the same issue

Inconsistent info here! In the tutorial, the introduction text mentions "other DLC " coming out at a later point, though there are no longer any in development! Could use an update!!
