What about Derek?

Anyone else wanted to date derek but just had time with Cove throughout step 4? I was doing a Derek run but step 4 like forgot about Derek

I don't think they "forgot", I think Derek's proposal for 10 years later wasn't so much supposed to be a launch for romance as it was supposed to be a cute, wholesome moment and a promise between two kids that didn't really get what it all meant.
The main romance with him is supposed to come from the future DLC.

Derek's DLC will be 5 new or alternative moments (like you can go to the dance with Derek instead of Cove) that take place during Step 2 and a Step 4 that will play differently if you are romancing him instead of Cove.

Baxter's will be the same except his takes place in step 3 because that's the step he is in. he will also have an alternate step 4 in which you can be dating him.

the wedding dlc is for Cove only.

I curious to see if Gb will make Derek and Baxter's dlc long just like Cove cause we don't get see derek in step 3 but till step 4

No they did say it wasn't going to be as long or involved as Cove's romance. It would basically be like making two complete new games.

Does anyone know how to get to the dance with Derek? I've been trying to look up some stuff but hasn't been helpful...

Have you updated your game? Some people reported a bug but it was fixed.
If you already have, did you press the arrow in the top right on the Step 2 moments selection to go to the page for Derek's Soiree? It should be on different page from Cove's.

Yeah I did go to the other page, I keep trying to reactivate the event where you ask him to the Soiree and I can't seem to trigger that event. It might be a bug who knows, i did manage to activate it once though. I was wondering if there was a certain way the events should go to even get his romance option even
