AQR literally has /60 reviews/. The game is small and has little to no reach, and the choice to sue them for looking similar is absolutely asinine. You're literally like a corporation saying a child can't set up a lemonade stand.

By all means, DPC, make your truth known. In the absence of that, the only conclusion is that you have no defense because your actions are indefensible. I'm going to go with the assumption that you're mad a solo dev in her first professional effort made a game that you considered making but went a different direction and her game plays better.

But, please, correct me because I've been a big DPC fan for a long time, followed MMotor dev closely and from what I watched and read really thought you were the kind of cool team that the industry is solely lacking in. So it really sucks to see your behavior and only be able to infer that you're nothing more than a tyrannical chihuahua that believes EA isn't aggressively evil enough.

Of all the many things your team has said that you and no one else should forget, first on the list is that you admitted you threw away almost every new and different idea to make the game as close to Mini Metro as possible. The ONLY company that's cloned a DPC game is DPC.

"All Quiet Roads has reached its end.
The game will be modified in the next few weeks to not require leaderboards nor any server assets. No more sales of AQR will happen after April, 2023. People who have purchased the game can continue playing it, but it will not be available to anyone new after April is over.
I got forced into this situation because of baseless claims that I haven't the money nor energy to defend. It's easier to just pull the plug. For all the loyal fans of AQR, I'm sorry. I made this game because it was close to my heart. I thought I was taking the genre of road building to exciting new places, introducing a multitude of unique gameplay features. I feel like that passion has been trampled upon. I feel like my player's passion has been dismissed. I am sorry."

Are you saying those "baseless claims" have nothing to do with you? Or did you just threaten to sue without actually doing it? What do you mean by clearing things up privately? Because it seems like a pretty hostile move to me, if it's not I think you'd be better off making a public statement.

My skin is crawling just to think that someone could do this, i've seen both games and let me tell you they are not the same, if this is legal than the game development will just exist in the hands of large companies, since just because your game have the genre mechanics it doesn't matter what extra features you put in, they'll claim dibs on the entire genre it makes no sense to me, it's despicable, greedy and a disrespectful practice to the art of game development, SHAME!.

I was actually about to buy Mini Metro on android, so I'm gonna keep a close eye for an official statement on what has been going on before I possibly buy it.
