Does this have multiplayer hot seat?

My wife and I love playing Civ on hot seat mode. Looking for more 4x games with that option. Does this game allow hot seat local multiplayer?

Unfortunately, Humankind will not have a hotseat mode. All players in Humankind take their turn simultaneously, rather than sequentially, and some gameplay systems (most notably combat and reinforcements) are designed to take advantage of this fact, so hotseat will not be possible without fundamental changes to the game.

Too sad...a Civ like game without a hot seat mode. Sorry but this kills it for me. :-/

The same discussion as in previous Amplitude titles... and the same answer. At least you can expect that only host needs to have the DLC and joining players (having bought vanilla game, only) can profit of.

Edit: Don't get me wrong, I like hotseat games, but simultaneous gameplay makes it impossible, it seems.

I wonder how Civilization is handling this because in LAN or online all players can make their moves simultaneously, only when you fight other units it goes back to turn based gameplay and it also got a hot seat mode. ^^

They started out as I-go-you-go and added simu-turns to MP later. The game isn't built around the idea of simu-turns, it's just slapped onto it to make multiplayer games quicker.

Works pretty well in Civ, so I don't really care if it's "slapped onto".

Too bad I have to skip Humankind because of the missing Hotseat. Would love to play this with my buddy, but hey....life will go on without me playing this game and for all other 4x interests there's still Civ around. ^^

Sad...Civ is slowly burning out, the last "good" Heroes of Might & Magic is part V and Age of Wonders somehow fails to satisfy our "Itches". Was really hoping for new hot-seat food for me and GF.

The game in MP is simultaneous turns like with their other games so there's not hotseat option

+1 for hotseat modes, that's what made me drift away from endless legends and the whole studio games list coz I couldn't play with my gf on the couch...
