Auto Signals (Please Help)
I am having troubles figuring out Auto Signals. I tried to follow youtube videos and the ingame Tutorial and it doesn't seem to work correctly for me. I click the arrow you put in the middle of the track and then a stop and it always resets or arrow flips. Kinda frustrating. I know I may be noobing it but is there someone that can explain it easier for me to get it or is there a simple video out there? Thank you kindly.

Seems weird. Are you sure you are not clicking around in build mode?
And if not it should be left click the signal, left click one of the highlighted orange/brown available destinations to set a route. The route then gets marked in green color. You can reset the signal by right clicking it.

Should show you available commands/key bindings in the tooltip when hovering the signal?

Maybe you show us some screens or a short video of what you're experiencing?

I recorded a quick clip via the link below. I clicked the signal to the 2nd platform and I assume that the trains auto go to it after. I clicked the signal to try to create a second signal to the 1st platform. I get lost there as I don't understand if the functionality of what I am trying to do is correct. Link:

This seems like the same clip as the Wakefield post? I assume this isn't the correct one 🙂

1. At the start of the clip you are in build mode. Look at the tooltip when hovering the signal of what you can do. You can't allocate routes in this mode.

2. When you go out of build mode you open the route from the auto signal to platform 1.

3. You then open the route from the manual signal towards that auto signal.

4. You then set a route to platform 2 in queue on the auto signal, mark the "1" by the signal indicating there is a route in queue. It will trigger as soon as the route to platform 1 is cleared (ie a train has passed or you cancel the route).

You could have right clicked the auto signal to cancel the route again if you wanted.

And different from the manual signals, you don't have to set the switches manually before allocating a route. The auto signals throw the switches needed to get from the signal to your chosen destination.

Thank you for the help. So what I was trying to do, and I may be miss understanding on how the signals work is to have it auto go to all 3 platforms. I am thinking that if I set it up to go to platform 1, I click the arrow and it goes to 1, I set it up for platform 2, clicking the arrow it goes to platform 2, and so on. So in summary, click the arrow and every number under it would open the platform it was set up to go to if I am understanding.

It's not that auto, even though the name auto signal. You clear the route for one train at a time as it approaches the signal. So if the train is to go platform 1, you clear a route to platform 1. The train will go through and the signal/track clears - ready for another train.

To automate the auto signals, you use the sensors. So in your case, an arrival sensor would open the routes to each trains corresponding scheduled platform as it drives over the sensor and triggers it.

EDIT: (You could say the auto part is that you don't have to mess with the switches like you have to do with the manual signal). It is also faster to allocate routes as you can "chain" routes from auto signal to auto signal if you want.

Got it. I guess I have to just practice more to get more use to it. Thank you for the tips. I am having a blast with the game.
