While I understand that the train can't be moved, is it possible to move the locomotive to the other side? I have been able to do so by hand, but not with shunting sensors.
Yes, attach/detach loco (and shunting the loco to the other side) is the one thing you can do to the IC or Freight while they are stationary at the platform, since the train itself can't be moved.
You have to ensure a long enough stop, and attaching the shunting rule to the correct platform signal, and ensure the shunting sensor trigger the train.
