Cannot launch the game

I have not been playing the newest update, so I suspect that its because of the update that I cant play.

When I open the game the screen turns black for a secound or 2 but then the process closes down and im back at my desktop. Is there anything I can try here?

1. Navigate to Steam > steamapps > common > Curse of the Dead Gods > TempleResources.
2. Delete the _LocalData folder and run Curse of the Dead Gods.

NOTE: The game will recompile all shaders, so there will be some temporarily slowdowns at the beginning.
