Also, pistols are great. Good ranged dmg and a solid zoning AoE on the offhand combo.
Overall I just find it weird that watering down the weapon pool is a bad thing, and I'm left with all these Jade Rings.
Personally, though, I look at it a little differently here since these weapons actually used to just be normal weapons in the game. Everything got thrown behind made up locks just to fabricate some semblance of metaprogression (the whole jade ring thing was poorly considered), so I see at it as just the slow returning the game to the intended state.
Also, make sure you try out their AoE interrupt (fire comboed after a main-hand attack) a bit before you throw them in the bin. It's a great melee shockwave tool.
Anyway, don't fret, the pool is already poluted.
You have a hard chance for each weapon from start modified by armory upgrades not by weapons unlocked, the unlocked weapons dont cause more of the type to appear, instead they increase the ammount of non-default things that you can roll, AFTER you already rolled X.
In short: the game decided for pistol first, then it decides WHAT pistol.
So unlock your favs first to get a better fav when you get fav then unlock the rest cos why not. I mean you can go one step further and say: "I dont want anything but electric cos it's OP!". Well then you "kind of" polute the pool but honestly no cos i think the game actually swaps weak default commons/rares etc. for their stronger similar counterparts from the unlock roster. Thus making weapon unlock universally worth it.
Hmm are you 100% sure of this? Never seen word of this before from the devs. But yeah if that was the case it'd somewhat avoid/fix the problem, although I'd still never unlock weapons that I like less than other ones, even in the same type.
What do you prefer? The same weapons over and over again? Boring and meaningless.
Okay, so you don't know for sure. I've read and played and designed a lot of games too, and there's no guarantee the weapon pool here isn't a straight random of all available weapons. You got me all hopeful too
Just... maybe try reading everything someone says in a general sense as a total of information on a subject not just select few sentences, that would be my life tip.
I am also afraid that the answers you seek (at least to the degree of certainty you seek) can only come from a devs mouth so you will most probably never know then.
Sorry i could not help more.
- they rolled randomly across all weapons
- if it rolled on a unlocked weapon, players got it.
- if it rolled on a locked weapon, player got a basic no-bonus one.
The players that didn't unlock weapons "for better loot LULZ" were actively shooting themselves in the foot. That was funny when it got out.
