Game length?
Just wondering what the game length is since I've seen conflicting accounts. Some say that it's below 20h while some say that it's 30-50h long.

depends on your gameplay. if you're rushing, you can complete the game within 18 hours++, but if you're more into discover secret, do quest, side story, try to complete stuff, achievement etc it will be more than 30 hours.
I finished the first part (before the hideout) in 10 hours, lol. Maybe some players completed this part in 5 hours (like this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NNPXT2UddE0 in 12:08 it's 5:51 total playtime).

Depends the way you play the game. I like to explore everything. I try to make every recipe, testing effects, traits, do sidequests, searching for treasures along the scenarios, etc. Also, I play on hard and do some grinding for level and ingredients.

General consensus is below 20 hours if you rush it and 30 hours if you want to be completionist

How much gametime you end up with depends on how much you enjoy the alchemy system. If you use lots of alchemy you can easily go 50+ hours. If you only care about the plot, maybe 20 hours.

Thanks for the responses guys. Seems like the game is on the shorter side for JRPG. I guess I will wait a little while before buying.

I'm 17 hours and I'm at the castle thing right now. I do some sidequests, party quests, gather and synthesize which I spend loads of time in.

I'm at the first area of the castle myself, and I just reached Alchemy level 30.
I put 43 hours in. Did the main quest, almost all the major sidequests, but left a ton of character quests and didn't make all the items. Or do any of the hard endgame bosses.

I'm actually planning to get it on my PS4, seeing how the PC port wasn't done very well.

PS4 version is worse tho, not better. The lack of graphic options people complain about are not present there either. Lack of mouse support shouldnt be an issue for you as you have a controller, and for the rest the game runs pretty well.

I can think of a few reasons to get the PS4 version, but performance is not one of them.

Unless you just prefer PS4 over PC gaming or have a very bad PC, I wouldnt advise going for the PS4 version. (in this case)
