Fighting the dragon

it happened too soon and I'm only level 14. What gives?

Build an ice bomb.
Rebuild it with good traits and all of the important effects.
Stomp him into the ground.

Upgrade your equipment if necessary.

I was level 25 when I hit him, so you might have just been skipping too many enemies.

But overall levels don't mean much, so focus instead on equipment. I spent some time crafting a mean sword (136 quality) for Lent and he was able to hit 300+ damage in a single attack on the dragon.

I think the way to craft the best sword is to start with the weakest sword and keep upgrading the recipe (where you complete the node that transitions you to a new recipe) instead of going for the best sword to start with. Also make sure you craft good material (especially ingots) before you craft the weapon.

I restarted the game after failing to beat final boss and when I reach him, I was level 12 equiped with ice bomb and agressive AI and I managed to beat him...

Atelier games rely more on being well equiped and understanding game mechanics then levels~

this is first Atelier game where I reached final boss, I have played Arland quartet but this is far easier Atelier for me.

Use ice bomb to slow the dragon down
also your lvl is kinda too low
also try to upgrade your equips put stack some attack charges or skill charges

It's the easiest but you had restarted the game because you couldn't beat the first boss lol.

So, yea fire dragon gets owned by ice bombs, but how about ice dragon later in game, "abandone tower 3" boss.

I beaten him during one try, in my previous playthrough. Not overly hard.

i find that equipment and armour is vital. yet oddly them ore OP'ed your qulaty is the more dmage you will do. true you have to get the stas better but it seam a 100+ qulaty is far betterr thne 50.

so start small add to it and over time that wepon get moreand more powerful.

Use Energianica (the harmonica) with good traits and as many effects you can add. It's an aoe heal + buff.
The rest on you but that won me the fight.
