Hated it...

That's all I wanted to say.

Would you be willing to tell me what you disliked? Just please use a spoiler tag!

I Don't appreciate endings that just kill the character off at the end. It's mostly fine for a movie but in a game I just spent several hours surviving only to have the game kill me off because it has a story it wants to tell. I don't really care about the ghosts in the apartment complex...just wanted to get Mei out of there

The ending left me feeling deflated, everything I did to stay alive amounted to nothing.

I think the developer said there was a "secret good ending" you can get on new game plus. How secret is that ending? I might be willing to replay it but not if it's something easily missable.

Ah! Ok Who said Mei died? How could we make a trilogy for this series without her? When we release the update, beating NG++ will give you some hope :)

Something that Maiko picked up denoted three selves or spirits. I assumed this was pertinent to what has happened to Mei, with one part of her wandering the earth, the other part carted off to hell and her corpse rotting on earth. I perceived the final scene as her dead body basically being used by the police to try and decipher what happened. I did see the tears on her cheeks in the final scene, but I assumed that was just a further depressant for the ending. I have to say, I was quite saddened by this ending, too, but after hearing there is a true ending in one of the New Game + modes, I have hope. I'm also VERY happy to hear you mention a trilogy as I would like to see more of this world you've created, and more Mei!

Not to hijack the OP's post, but I did notice a different mode, Yotsuya, open up when I beat the game. Is this related to Sense's storyline in any way? I'm going to play it regardless, but at the moment, I'm just curious about this bit of information.

Yotsuya is very related to the main story and will shed more light on why the main game happens.

Also, the scroll MAiko found is very important, but i wouldn't say that a corpse rotting o earth is the 3rd soul, more like being a vegetable than dead. Souls can be re-joined with the body!

This is the same conclusion I reached, which made me very unhappy.

Yeah when I got to the ending I was disappointed and sad at the same time, I know weird but that's my opinion anyway.

I heard there was a secret ending which got me curious now but I'll wait for a update and go for a second run and see how it goes. :steamhappy:

Yes, once the update is out, beat NG++ for the true ending!

Is it obvious what to do in NG+ and NG++ to avoid getting the same ending over and over again?

the patch is coming to fix this issue. NG++ will play the secret ending as intended once it's out!

As in it's the only ending in NG++ and each playthrough will turn out differently without needing to actively do things differently?

Yeah the secret ending will play after the standard one once you beat NG++
