Yeah it would, I like demos to get excited for the game I think it's great publicity in a simplistic form, but also I like to try it before I commit.
If there isn't demo I just won't buy it until a big discount honestly.
Probably the best way is a choices on a pre built character, and a tutorial around a pre built house. Im sure it would be a pain to make but personally im hesitant on buying a game like this, steam lately has a lot of games that have just gone dead or havent matched up to promises so we will see.
You can always buy the game and play for up to 2 hours, then refund if you don't like it. Steam has a no quibbles refund policy for 2 hours of play within 14 days. Though if you're doing that, I wouldn't recommend buying it in early access, that time will still count. Early access is essentially a paid beta.
I wish I could say this wasn't true, but in some cases it really is. I have been watching Masquerades II - "coming soon" since 2019...
