Audio issues on Steamdeck and streaming after last update.
It seems after the last update to retroarch I've been seeing major audio stuttering when streaming to steam link devices in my home, or when playing on my steam deck. The issue seems to apply to most cores. Here are a few I've had issues with.

- mGBA
- BeetlePSX (software)
- Nestopia UE

All of these behave just fine on my main desktop PC (as opposed to streaming to a steam link) but if I stream from desktop to steam link, or try to play directly on steam deck, I get audio stuttering.

For mGBA I've seen issues with basically all games, but the Legend of Zelda games for GBC are the most tested. For Nestopia I'm seeing issues with all games as well, but OG Zelda and Mario 3 are my most tested.

I think this might be a result of a steam update after some testing. I rolled back all the way to 1.9.8 and added it as a non-steam game and am seeing the same issues =(

I'm having the same issue without streaming. On game launch, the game is slowed down to the point of being unplayable and the audio is horrific. This has affected the Mesen and Genesis cores for me.

Has no one fixed this issue? I'm new to the Steam Deck and can't figure out how to fix this audio crackling.

On your steam deck game overlay, you want to make sure that your FPS is at max of 60 fps. Anything below that and majority of emulated games will slow down. I made this mistake when playing another AAA game and forgot that i had my fps locked to 30.

Not sure if u guys made this mistake
