RetroArch

RetroArch

Discord server for RetroArch/Onion OS/retro gaming emulation?
I have lots of questions about either emulating stuff on my PC, or potentially getting a Miyoo Mini Plus, and I want to know what emulators can run on certain platforms.

Things I'm looking to find out:
Can the Miyoo Mini Plus run emulators for PSP, Nintendo DS, and/or other handhelds?

and for RetroArch I've learned of it's GameCube/Wii weaknesses so I recently tried Dolphin but having a bit of classic controller config issues with a game I tried, but that's another thing all together. But I wouldn't mind knowing the best uses of this Steam version of RetroArch or maybe how to get cores from the standalone version and hooking them to Steam since everyone likes the cloudsave function we got here.

Just for your information - RA's dolphin core is indeed outdated compared to the standalone emulator (for the moment).

So, it's better to use the standalone overall, yet, the core works really good as long as you don't go too much in depths about very specific enhancements, or play some exotic / problematic title that has been fixed rather recently.

I've been using for it years without problems, I only switched recently to the standalone because some games I wanted to play required specific conditions (Zelda Four Swords with four additional screens emulating GBA, notably).

It's the same for PS2 overall, the core works great and they got a new one that is actively developed, but the standalone version of PCSX2 dramatically improved since 2.0, so it's a more powerful solution.

I see, thanks for the info! I was using Dolphin today independently from any version of RA, but was having a bit of issues with it. I just gotta learn the basics I'm sure, like figuring out why my controller config change has no effect.
