Some examples are the Mega Man Collections, many SEGA games, crapcom's beat 'em up collection, etc, etc, etc.

However, if all you're concerned about is tracking playtime, you can do something similar to what I have.
I wanted to track playtime as well as get achievements for PS2, which isn't supported with the RetroArch core. So I setup PlayNite so I can use standalone emulators like PCSX2, and then replaced the RetroArch Steam files with PlayNite. Then wrote a batch file to open PlayNite as well as other peripheral software, converted that batch file to an exe, and titled it retroarch.exe
Now when I press play in Steam, it opens PlayNite, tracks my playtime, I have the ability to take Steam screenshots and open the overlay. Plus now I have access to every emulator under the sun rather than just the cores that RetroArch offers; while still retaining a console like experience.
The neat part is that you can still use RetroArch under PlayNite. For example I use RetroArch's DS core, because it's the only one that really supports achievements, and it's all automated and launched through PlayNite without having to open RA at all. I just press play on the game, and the game opens.
Hopefully this helps you in some way.
