Retro Achievements, making unrecognised PS1 games recognisable bc they were converted to .iso's from PSP eboot .pbp's
I am converting Playstation 1 PSP eboot .pbp's into regular iso's so I can get achievements but they don't have the needed data in them to let Retro Achievements know they are the games that they are.

How can I give my converted .iso's the data they need and that Retro Achievements looks for to determine which game it is looking at?

Like, if I use a regular .iso of Symphany of the night, it has all the info it needs built in already, but if I rip the .iso from a PSP .pbp eboot file, it does not have the data that it needs.

Edit: I'm not sure if I understood correctly your problem however I'll try to help.

First of all I don't recommend you to use .iso they are heavy extensions that weight too much. My advice is to get a compression soft like Cue-GDI To CHD (not installer just a folder) that will convert your isos into .chd and will save you a lot of space. If you do so, just place the soft within the isos' folder and enter to the .bat file.

In regards to your issue I think:

Now, retroachievements should recognise your games even if they are .iso or other formats.

The thing here I believe are the names of those games in your disk, try renaming your games as something R.Achievs. can recognise. And find if they are us, jp or us too.

Sites like gamefaqs even have the box art, the right name for every region, the cover, etc. If you need the right name.

PS: if your games are psp you can rip them into .cso to save space with another soft (iso compressor).

Oh. I just tried a .chd of Alundra like you suggested. It worked immediately with achievements. I copied the exact same name, Alundra (USA) to the .pbp, the .iso, .bin, and .cue files. None of those worked though. I think something got lost in the translation from the .pbp file to the .iso. I think it is the hash.

The .iso does scan manually and loads the game, but it can only be played with the SwanStation core,
And looking at the Information section of the Quick menu for the game, it says
RetroAchievements Hash:
N/A

I just tried converting the .iso to a .bin/.cue thinking that might work since the rest of them that do work are in that format. This did not work.

I don't know. None of them work. The eboot files just do not scan, manually or not, and any iso's i convert them to are not seen by RetroAchievements. I am thinking of just getting the games fresh and not trying to convert.

Why don't you tried the soft I suggested and convert them to .chd? You'll save space too. And I didn't get it right is this for psx or psp?

I just converted a game to .chd. Achievements still do not work. I am just going to get new ones.
This is has all been to turn PSP games into PS1 format games.

Oh. And I didn't know you could turn psp into psx games. Maybe that's the reason. Why don't you try it with native psx games instead?

All the native ones I have already work. The only thing I can do is turn them into .chd files and save space. But for any new games I can just get them in .chd and everything will work.

You'll need the software that was used to convert from ps1 to psp and use it to convert back to ps1. To get the correct names look in 'Main Menu> Information> Database Manager>'
