[Steam deck] fast forward issues

Man googling stuff about retroarch is really really annoying. It's like every question I have has never even been thought of before, like asking what core settings do...

Anyway, I'm using a steam deck, and more specifically DeSmuME, and I cannot get the fast forward feature to work properly. It seems there is a hard limit of 90fps (OLED btw) on the deck, and even changing the "disable frame limit" setting does not allow it to go above 90. Running a game at 60 and fast forwarding only goes up to 90, which is a 1.5x increase... Not very good of a fast forward lol. I tried turning vsync off in RA as well but I genuinely have no idea how to unlock the fast forward on the deck. Is there another setting I should be changing to let it go more?
