A big huge improvement for the ps2 core. And they moved it from the hidden cores to the main list of cores.

The update was released yesterday. That is why i asked about updating the steam version with the standalone and if my setting would be affected.

Yeah I remember your threads about it. The thing I was constantly watching and checking my downloads on steam but never saw it. Now after launching ra the ou is gone.

Just copy over the files from the standalone version it's up to date on their webssite. I also downloaded the new version to side load on my android phone.
Now i'm not saying that the ps2 emulator will play all ps2 games but the one i showed above was really missing a lot of textures and stuff was invisible and it seemed like yesterdays update has fixed it and i can play this game i missed out on so many years ago.

Yeah, that's what I literally do and recommend every time this happens.

It's an important update anyways. Mame also updates its emu once a month and always fixes more stuff.

I believe both as when you update the core it's the same version as the standalone.

They definitely did some improvements with lrps2. The Thing is a game that was bugged before and I can play it now.

I usually pull my non-Steam stuff directly from the Buildbot, but it seems the new core isn't available there yet? Or am i missing something?

You need to add it manually. Or even easier the faster way below.
Manual way:

Easy way:

Copy paste the standalone RA (RetroArch) from their official site over steam's RA and you'll find the core with the O.U. (Online Updater).

Yes yes, i know. As i said, i've been updating my Steam version manually, just not with the standalone Retroarch and instead directly from the respective buildbot.

The issue was, that i didn't know that the core name (pcsx2) was kept, so i was looking for an LRPS2 core on the buildbot.

It's nothing new. Have been available for years. The news is it works fine now as it was experimental and buggy before.

Glad to hear it.

Meh, the core seems to have no way to set-up / change mem cards.
Back on the shelf with it then.
