Swanstation audio crackling and slowdown
I tried playing symphony of the night on swanstation. The audio was crackling loudly, and there was significant slowdown. I tried fiddling with the settings but nothing worked.

Does it happen with all your games?
Did you try another audio driver?
Did you try another core like beetle psx hw?
Did you try setting vsync off?

Try increasing audio latency to lessen cracking. FYI: most cores not supported by Steam have issues.
I tried turning on audio synchronizing, and that caused all audio from my computer to turn off.

Check to see what shader presets you’re using. I’ve found that combining a shader preset with both BeatlePSX Hardware’s and SwanStation’s internal resolution scaling feature sometimes lowers performance. I got around that by using 2x internal resolution with 4x MSAA when using a shader preset. You’ll be able to find the scaling settings (and antialiasing settings if available) in the core options. BeatlePSX (Hardware) has the added bonus of having a texture scaling feature built in. I typically set it to xBR in conjunction with Hyperspace Madness’s Mega Bezel screen only presets.

I had to delete my retroarch installation and then reinstall. That fixed the issue. But thank you for the advice.

Aye no problem. But yeah still please heed that advice if you decide to use CRT shader presets like MegaBezel (by Hyperspace Madness).
