PCSX2 no longer working after update.
Before the update it worked fine, but now I get a "Failed to load content" error after attempting to launch an iso.

I bet it erased the info files needed to run the cores. You could try reinstalling the core, downloading the files from the official site or just copy them from the latest standalone stable build of RetroArch

That will also happen if you are missing the correct bios or if it's in a specific location. For example the PCSX2 bios should be in "RetroArch/ system/ pcsx2/ bios" but the 3 DuckStation bios only work in "RetroArch/ system/"

I have verified that all of the files are still there, and even recopied them from my backup folder, still no dice.

I should add that I can sometimes get the core working on its own. Other times Retroarch just crashes.

What ISO are you trying to run?

I just copied over PCSX2 (alpha) (10cc4e2e) core from the latest 1.9.13 standalone stable build to a fresh install of 1.9.13 steam version and was able to boot up Dragon Quest VIII - Journey of the Cursed King (USA). I used the scph10000 bios. I don't know if it matters but I was on the d3d11 video driver. If you recreate these conditions it should work for you as well. Don't forget to copy the info file over from the stable build

I know you said that you verified all the files, but just in case if you only checked what he wrote out (and for others on Google who might have this as the solution) did you also check RetroArch/ info/? There were only a few files there for me. When I copied the "info" folder from RetroArch from the official download, it then started working. (I was having the same symptoms as you, and this fixed it, so that's why I was asking if you checked that spot too.)

Sucks having to install the official download, but I think this problem will eventually get solved once all the cores are on Steam.

No, I only had the files for the emulators I actually used in the info folder. I downloaded the official release from the website and copied it over and now it works. Thank you!

I posted this thread asking about this before :SuperSonico:
I fixed it,I only need to change these 2 options on retroarch.cfg to let they are as below :TalesOfTheBlackForest_Argh:
driver_switch_enable = "true" systemfiles_in_content_dir = "false"
