Steam Deck: Load Disc option not appearing
I am using a Steam Deck. I also have the disc for Tomb Raider 2 on PS1, and it mounts correctly in Desktop Mode. However, the Beetle PSX core and PCSX ReArmed core do not give the Load Disc option. I thought the RetroArch Disc Project was still ongoing! I am confused as to why my game will not be recognized.

And, YES, I KNOW I CAN RIP THE GAME. I SEE NO POINT WASTING STORAGE SPACE WHEN I HAVE A BUNCH OF GAME DISCS LAYING AROUND. IF YOU ARE NOT WANTING TO BE HELPFUL, DO NOT POST.

Load disc also doesn't appear for me, however, I can get there by going to directory manually. I'm on Linux, so it's diferent than Windows but look at your drive Letter, for example, "A". Go to load content and with start directory or the directories below, try to find that drive and load it there.

Thank you for your response. However, I tried what you suggested and Retroarch is expecting a file, not a directory. So, the menu cannot load the mounted CD as a game. And, the file selection menu does not see the block device files in the /dev folder either, so I cannot access the cdrom as a file.

Oh wait, I misread your post. On Steam Deck, things are a bit diferent, try getting the Retroarch Standalone and running it in desktop mode.

Alrighty, I gave that a try. I used both the Flatpak and Appimage versions, and both expect a file, not a directory. Also, the Load Disc option didn't appear either. I even tried Beetle PSX and that core didn't recognize the disc either. Very odd.

I HAVE FOUND THE SOLUTION. You have to enter the command "sudo modprobe sg" for the OS to recognize the drive. Strangest thing! The solution was found at: https://github.com/libretro/RetroArch/issues/11409
