RetroArch
pc engine cd games not working
Can anyone give me tips on how to get these games to work? I can be patient for a response, I've been waiting years to play pc engine again. But I would VERY much appreciate some kind of help on why this is not working

Make sure you have the right bios in the right place too 👍

This and you’ll likely need to do a manual scan in order to add those backup images properly. Usually you’ll need to scan for the .cue file extension from the Bin/Cue format image.
I dumped a bios pack into the retroarch system file like you are apparently supposed to but the games still are not working I just don't get it, I tried to research online. apparently they need to be BIN filesbut they are all 7z

To detect games you need to do a manual scan for their file types (extensions). If they are in the Bin/Cue format for the TurboCD, you need to load the .cue files and have the associated .bin files in the same folder as the .cue folder for that to work properly.
Ugh, confusing. I'll have to do research on what you are talking about

It is confusing at first. Tell you what, I’ll likely have time to go over it with you in between homework. Either that or I make a guide 👀
Sounds like you need 7zip to open 7 zip files 👍😜

2022 and People still dont know what 7z, rar and zips are... i already lost 50 iq points in 2002 cause of permanently facepalming and facedesking because of this, how do you guys even manage to find your way onto a forum to post on?
Starting to emulate stuff while not knowing what compression formats are is like trying to run a marathon without knowing what shoe laces are and that they probably should be tied.

The emulator works just fine by the way.

syscard3.pce bios are what you need, put it in your retroarch/system folder.

The games/roms need to be unzipped in a folder, and click on the .cue, not the bin to run the game.

I can't post where to get it obviously for the usual reasons, but search and you will easily find. Pretty easy, just do what I posted here, and you can play your PCECD games.

As for the folder to unzip the games into, I'd make it like so:

PCECD as main folder, and inside a sub folder called ROMS. Put the unzipped games into the ROMS sub folder insider the main folder.

Reason for the sub folder is that, sometimes without, the games just vanish after using retroarch. With the sub folder, it does not happen.
