PCSX2 doesn't launch for me
tired following these steps on https://docs.libretro.com/library/pcsx2/ to try and make PCSX2 work but every time i try loading in a game it just quits out of RetroArch. Dolphin works so does anyone know a work around to get PCSX2 to work?

PCSX2 only supports D9, D11 and OpenGL. So I suggest you to change your driver to GL then restart, load core then start core if you see your BIOS then you are good to go, if you are not able to boot BIOS then check your setup again.

Well, good. The point Gadsby was making is that Dx12 isn't supported, meaning that they don't guarantee that it works, nor can anyone really help troubleshoot it if it doesn't. Advising someone to use an unsupported driver is rarely helpful.

Yeah already tried that. Even downloaded the standalone version of retroarch and it works on there fine but doing it in the steam version doesn't even boot up the bios

Did you double check your Steam setup for the bios files? Apart from the Steam address prefix, the folders and files setup for PCSX2 should be exactly the same as the standalone.

On the Steam version, what happens if you load the PCSX2 core and launch it without loading any content?

Okay. Load the PCSX2 core, scroll down and click "Information", then click "Core Information". Can you post a screenshot of what it shows from the beginning all the way down to "Lock Installed Core"?

Double check your setup; you're missing required files for the core to run.

but how can that be? i checked the core information for the standalone version and it looks the same as the steam version but only the standalone version works

I don't know why the standalone version works for you; it shouldn't with missing bios files. I can only tell you that the reason the Steam version isn't working is because you're missing the required files, including the bios.

Mind taking a screenshot of your Steam/steamapps/common/RetroArch/system/pcsx2/bios folder?
