Are you saying this is inferior or currently not working?
The whole claim to fame is the fact you came MP Share emulation of any platform to anywhere in the world, thats the real appeal.
So how do we do it?
If its just a cop out to say please use steam remote play, thats garbo which would mean this is pointless
Haven't yet used other than parsec for ra tbh and tell ya.
My internet is not the issue, the people I play with live within the USA as well do I.
Sharing MP Emulation while do-able doesn't mean its enjoyable for all parties. The netcode is what needs to be improved.
Hence why Netplay is big claim to fame.
So where is the sticky and how to use Netplay on the Retro-Arch Steam Verson??
Quite pointing elsewhere and please explain how to use the tools that are released in the software as intended.
Instead would rather demonize the this user, seems your scientific formula is broken professor. I am not gonna get drug into the mud with your ♥♥♥♥ measuring dumbass.
Does anyone have a tutorial on how to use netplay that doesn't use steam remote play together?
If not please don't respond.
If you do respond without it, you will been weighed and found lacking, a snowflake that can't read directions.
Go ahead join that club, have a nice day.
(though, some steps might be not necessary)
- Both players must have the game.
- Both players must have the game scanned by RetroArch, so it's added into the library/playlist/whatever - a separate menu must appear with the platform name.
- Both players must run the game before attempting to use Netplay.
- Server must change the settings to "Reserve controller" in advanced settings for netplay (enable advanced settings visibility in general settings). I reserved my Input 1, so it's always controlled by me. This gave me the most trouble, I'm surprised why this is not enabled by default.
- Server goes to menu - Netplay - Host.
- Client goes to menu - Netplay - Connect.
This should work for simple case where Server has direct IP (not behind a router), for default RetroArch settings.
There are also various other things to consider, for example:
- I don't see how I could set my server name for the server browser, to let the client connect easily without entering my IP address all the time. Seems like all servers are named "anonymous" in the browser.
- After hosting is launched, my analog controls no longer worked, and I had to force them from Control menu.
If you still get a CRC mismatch, then there's something going on with your local files. If not, reverse the process and have your friend host while you connect. If there's a problem then, it's on his end.
If both of you can connect to the other hosting the game just fine, then the mismatch means you both don't have the exact same files.
CRC error may be related to games themselves. E.g. if you have a different version from your friend then it might not work. My guess is that RA should expect 1:1 exact game data across all players.
