PCSX2 core does not support disc project. Check this link to understand Disc Project: https://www.libretro.com/index.php/retroarch-disc-project-run-real-games-off-cd-rom-with-retroarch-starting-with-sega-cd-and-playstation1-coming-very-soon/
Check this video to see how it's work: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZLs-RLZUAwE
However like I mentioned aboce PCSX2 core does not support real cd.
Here is the PCSX2 documentation: https://docs.libretro.com/library/pcsx2/
And this is how you setup the core: https://youtu.be/-EnWeztB8wI
You will need to download the core from buildbot: http://buildbot.libretro.com/nightly/windows/x86_64/latest/pcsx2_libretro.dll.zip
But Retroarch PCSX2 doesn't load even images from what i see.
.nrg format is supported? I tried Serious Sam Next Encounter PAL.
Unlike the PS1 emulation where you just needed one bios file, PS2 emulation has (depending on the specific bios) anywhere from 2-4 files. Additionally, the PS2 emulation requires firmware for the encrypted disc player (usually two files). Also, where the PS1 emulator requires a specific bios (5501), the PCSX2 is more open, but from my experience trying to set it up, you can't have multiple bioses in the folder AND all the files have to have a similar filename structure (SCPH-70012.bin, SCPH-70012.mec, and SCPH-70012.nvm for example).
Also, the setup for PCSX2 is slightly different than for the PS1, where you could just drop the bios file into ReatroArch's system folder. For PCSX2, you need to go into RetroArch/system and make a new folder called "pcsx2" (all lowercase). Go into RetroArch/system/pcsx2 and create another new folder named "bios" (all lowercase). Drop your bios and firmware files into RetroArch/system/pcsx2/bios.
In RetroArch, load the PCSX2 core, then scroll down to "Information", click, then select "Core Information": scroll down slightly to the "Firmware" section and make sure all required files are listed as "Present" and not "Missing".
Finally, yes, the PCSX2 core can handle .nrg files as well as: .elf, .iso, .ciso, .chd, .cso, .cue, .bin, .mdf.
I realised, that RetroArch don't understand Cyrillic letters in file path. Changed it for Latinic and image got loaded.
Glad you got it working though!
