In due time, we might get a functional PCSX2 core. Also, one of the reasons why they try to warn people NOT TO USE the PCSX2 core is because they are aware of a memory leak issue, one that has severa side effects (one of them being RetroArch crashing and not closing, forcing the user to go to Task Manager and manually kill the process).
tl;dr: PCSX2 bad, trash even. Stay away from it until further notice.
