Online Updater (option) Missing
I am watching video tutorials about RA and all of them ask you to use that feature. However my RA does not show the OU. What can I do? Any tips? :BrokingHeart:

Downloading and uninstalling DLC/Cores is now possible directly within the RetroArch UI! Just navigate to "Manage Cores" within the main menu! Unpinning this thread then. Have fun everyone!

Is anyone having problems downloading cores or anything with the non-Steam version of RetroArch?

1) Is it allowed to share a bash/command line script that automatically downloads the latest cores and places them into the appropriate folder in the steam installation? Many people have been abit bummed that not all cores are available in the steam version and this would be abit of a help to them. Mabye posted as a guide here in the steam community.

2) are save files also synced for the non-dlc cores via steam?

Trying to download the cores as DLC doesn't seem to work, it just launches RetroArch and there's no new cores added. Very cool seeing this on steam though.

Ok, guess I fixed this. I just downloaded RA from official site and overwrote this version. Now I see more cores and the updater.
Just install the version from the official website.
And to count hours, etc set the Steam launch options to:
"C:\Users\User\AppData\Roaming\RetroArch\RetroArch.exe" %command%
(file path might differ)

I didn't know you could do that. Does Remote Play Together still work?

It makes no difference. It's literally the same. Overwriting as I did works in the same way too and I even believe is faster. I also have time played, steam overlay and all the same options and functions.

The cores are distributed as DLC, in order to stay within Steam's infrastructure (which was required for us to be on the store). All of the cores provided were given approval by the authors of the core code (with more on the way).

Right click RetroArch in your library, go to properties, go to the DLC tab and check all the boxes you wish to download. If RetroArch was open, restart it.

The rest of the assets, aside from thumbnails, (currently not provided) are automatically included within the main RetroArch install.
But why is there no Gamecube Core

Nintendo didn't make the Dolphin emulator and they themselves can't take Dolphin down because of how it was developed. Not to mention there's already 5 libretro cores from Nintendo systems (NES/Famicom, SNES/Super Famicom, Game Boy/Color, Game Boy Advance, and N64) already up as DLC for the Steam version of RetroArch.

Just Copy your old folder over to Steam

You all realise that the Cores are available from the RetroArch/Libretro website, right?
I just downloaded the zip file and place the Cores in the 'cores' folder.

It's about 160MB.

as the developer said, they are in the progress of asking the original dev of that core for permission to publish it on steam, because the dev of RA ar not the original dev for each of that core and to avoid legal problem in the future

Go to Libretro website and download the RetroArch_Cores 7zip file. Unzip it with 7Zip and place the files into the cores folder, in the RetroArch program folder.

It's pretty simple.
