Gba cheats
Hello,

I'm playing on the steam deck my gba game. I want to use cheats but I don't know how to use it.

Could someone point me to it?

Thank you for your support

F1:red_pointer:main menu:red_pointer:quick menu:red_pointer:cheats:red_pointer:cheats.
If you don't see the cheats menu get RA's folder from official site and replace it over your RA's folder to get the updater.

I'm playing on the steam deck.
Is there a guide how to replace the ra folder?

Will try to help you just read carefully.
What I do on PC is rclick on the library over RA and properties then installed files and explore.

Guess you can do the same on your SD or even connect it to the PC for easier manoeuvres.
In regards to getting RA's folder just google their official site then download and search for the one suitable for your OS. Uncompress the zip (if it's not) and then just replace it.

Thank you for trying to help.

I replaced the steam retroarch to my SD.
And I tried to write ra over it. But it only corrupted my files.

I have the cheat.zip file. And I have the cheat codes from my game out of the zip file.

But I don't know where to place it.
And I don't know how to get to the quick menu to load the cheats.

The steam deck is really a handful. And they where not lying about the steep learning process....

Oh I'm sorry I thought it would be the same there. Did you save your progress? In the save's folder there should be the save file.
The cheats literally go inside the cheat folder which in the RA's folder I mean on PC.
Maybe you could manage it more easily if you can connect your SD to the PC but I ignore how it works.

Also if you delete the retroarch.cfg file everything should go back to default mode but it may delete some settings.

I still have my saves don't worry. Thank you for your concern.

Does anybody know how to map the quick menu to a button? On the steam deck.

Push the Steam button, and go to the controls menu (pushing right twice and A once does this well). Then hit Edit Layout, and select one of your unused buttons (like the touchpads or one of the 4 back buttons) then choose F1 in the keyboard section. Just back out of the Steam overlay and you're done. Now you can use that button to open or close the quick menu whenever you need!
