"File can not be loaded from Playlist"
I thought of an old game this morning, patched it with a Rom hack I found, and went to open it, to check if it worked. It didn't, so I then thought to check a game I was playing a few months ago, and instead of playing, I got the title message.

What happened? and how do I fix it?
Do I lose my progress in the game I played? I was a several hours in. :(

If you played during hours and saved whereas it was by emulator's function or native one you must have it on the save folder.
Now you can try manual scan to make the game being visible on your playlist.

Didn't quite work. I still had the files where they were, and could play that, but they didn't have any progress on them. If I load the game listed in my Favorites menu, that one still gets the error. That one has 6 hours playtime listed on the time played.

What core, what game? You must provide more info we can't guess it all.

Citra for 3ds. Radiant Historia Perfect Chronology

I was last playing it fine just a few months ago.

Ok, Good news? I'm not sure which scan was it, but I tried Import Content on the main menu, and though it didn't find anything in the main game's file location, I'd scanned a few times, and one of them was correct, as I was able to load the game from the games list in the new section of the sidebar.

Maybe your previous scans were on incorrect locations. Or maybe you select something wrong.

This is why I hate Steam version. Every update breaks settings and you forced to go through this ♥♥♥♥ again.

Just make a back up and you are good.

This is pretty good for playlist making, I use it all the time, just back up your playlists just incase you have an issue like this again and make sure your file location is correct when dragging a ROM into the playlist https://www.marcrobledo.com/retroarch-playlist-editor/
