which core plays 3ds games, and which one is for gamecube?

3DS = Citra
Gamecube/Wii = Dolphin

And none of those are on Steam fyi.

I don't believe there's even a Dolphin core, or if there is it's bad.

The Citra core you can use fine, you just have to copy/paste it to the Steam version.

There is a Dolphin core, but last time I tried it, was a lot better to simply use the emulator instead, because had better performance settings.
